Menu Operations.
The user friendly keypad control allows user to operate the menu easily. The
following menu items help user to feed the data easily for calculation of Calorific
value .
 Press MENUKEY to enter the menu settings.

 First item of menu “ TYPE OF TEST “ gets displayed on the screen .Press
UPKEY /DOWNKEY to choose either of the 2 type of tests “SAMPLE TEST “
or “WATER EQUIVALENT TEST”.

 To select any of these tests press ENTER KEY.

 If test selected is “WATER EQUIVALENT TEST”then enter the value of water

equivalent “W =” through keys 0-9 on the keypad.
Press 0-9 keys

 If test selected is “SAMPLE TEST”then enter the value of Benzoic Acid
Calorific valve “ H=” through keys 0-9 on the keypad.

 Press MENU KEY to come back to main menu.

TYPE OF TEST
 Press UP KEY to switch next item in menu “MASS OF TABLET”. If the type of
test selected is SAMPLE TEST the screen displays “MASS OF TABLET” in the
upper line and “M =” on lower line. Using the 0-9 keys on keypad the user
will set the value of the required parameter. Else if the type of test selected
is WATER EQUIVALENT TEST the screen displays “BENZOIC ACID MASS” in
the upper line and “M =” on lower line. Using the 0-9 keys on keypad the
user will set the value of the required parameter.

 Press ENTER KEY to come back to the same menu item. To scroll to next item
in menu press UP KEY.
 Pressing UP KEY moves to next item in menui.e“ OFFSET :- ”.Press
UP/DOWN KEY to change the value of offset.

 Press ENTER KEY to come back to menu item from settings and press UP KEY
to move to next item “CLOCK “ .

 The display shows clock settings in format “ DD/MM/YY HH:mm ”.The arrow
pointing shows the parameter to be set using UP/DOWN KEY. Press MENU
KEY to move arrow to next parameter and follow the same procedure to set
every other parameter.
 Press ENTER KEY to move out to main menu.
 Press UP KEY to move to next item in menu “EXIT”. Press ENTER KEY the
screen comes out of menu and displays the main screen contents.

Procedure to operate the machine.
 Upon switching the unit the LCD display shows the name of the
company and name of the machine “ DIGITAL BOMB COLORIMETER”.

 The thermal printer prints the company name and address along with
the machine name and company logo.
 Immerse sensor in the water the screen displays the Ambient
Temperature and Clock on the LCD.

 If fuse wire is open the message is displayed on the screen and if not
the screen displays the message “ FUSE WIRE OK “.

 Press Fire button given on the keypad for firing the unit .

 As the temperature starts rising the LCD updates the temperature in

0.01 degree C resolution.
 The digital unit calculates the maximum rise of temperature
automatically and the LCD displays “ MAX.TEMP = “ on the upper
line and “RISE. TEMP = “ on the lower line.

 The parameters set in the menu helps the micro processor based
digital unit to automatically do the mathematical calculations and
display the calculated CALORIFIC VALUE of the substance and give
the thermal print out report simultaneously to the user.

To adjust Fuse Wire & Cotton Error.
Keep EXIT key pressed & then switch on the power of the firing unit after the
name of the machine has been displayed, release the EXIT Key & now the unit
will ask for Error. Feed the new error & exit.
IMPORTANT: while the process is running, the unit will automatically detect the
fall of rising temperature which may take some time. If the user feels to exit the
test process at the peak temperature, the user can press the EXIT key. The unit
will calculate the results with the max. temperature on the display & will show
& print the result.
