This technical information describes the diagnostic and recovery method when a problem occurs which MFP
does not boot up on the i-series (6th generation) machine.
Try "Diagnosis / Recovery Tool" before replacing the parts when you encounter this issue.
3. Diagnosis procedure
1. Uncompress the tool file and copy the extracted tool data folder, [FW****], into the root directory of the
USB memory
2. Turn OFF the main power switch
3. Connect the USB memory containing the firmware into the USB port on the right side of the control panel
4. Turn the main power switch ON while pressing the [Stop] key
5. The tool screen is displayed in approx. 90 seconds and press the [Start] with default settings
4. Diagnosis Result
When the diagnosis is completed, the following screen (diagnosis result) will be displayed.
Conduct appropriate action (troubleshooting) according to the message.

Message : Rewrite the jig, and if the problem persists, Replace USB flash memory and rewrite this tool
replace the USB memory. if the problem persists.
