Feeling satisfied refers to being content or happy after fulfilling a need or desire.

According to Rey, M (2020) School allowance refers to finance for students when they are

in school. Allowance has a significant role when students buy their requirements for a

particular subject. The level of satisfaction with financial support varies among individuals

based on their daily needs and desires.

In an article written by Jerald, M (2020) students receive an average of 90 pesos per

day as their allowances. While most students expressed contentment with the amount, a few

had a different opinion.

With today's inflation leading to increased prices, this study aims to assess students'

satisfaction levels with their daily allowances and if it is sufficient for daily expenditures.

The study intends to determine the relationship between school allowance and student

determination in studies Rey, M (2020). The study intends to assess the level of satisfaction

of the students with their financial support, the extent of persistence of students in their

studies, and the correlation if any (Marsha 2020). The financial satisfaction of students is

influenced by the amount they receive daily.

A student who is content with their financial support tends to exhibit increased

self-confidence, improved tolerance, and reduced stress levels, contributing to enhanced

personal well-being. To improve budgeting skills and increase satisfaction with financial
aid, it is advisable to research young individuals currently facing this problem.

1.1 Statement of Purpose

This study aims to assess students' satisfaction levels with their daily allowances and

if it is sufficient for daily expenditures.

Specifically, the study seeks to answer the following sub-problems:

1) What is the range of the students’ daily allowance

2) How satisfied are students with their given allowance?

1.2 Significance of the Study

The result of the study would benefit the following people:

Students will benefit from knowledge of school allowance and how it be managed. It will

give the students wisdom that school allowance can be a factor in why students are

determined in their studies and how they can be motivated with their allowance.

Teachers will understand their students about their behavior in school or determination

toward their studies. The teachers would be able to understand why students are sometimes

determined to do their studies.

Parents will adjust the allowance that they give to their son/daughter. In addition, the given

data will give knowledge to them on what is the significance of school allowance in line

with the motivation of the students.

School heads will understand their students’ actions within the school and the performance

shown to their respective classes. They will also understand their students why they have

poor performance in school.

The community will benefit from information to them to know the essence of school

allowance to the students’ lives. They also benefit a knowledge about how to determine

improvement and how to manage a school allowance or finance.

Researchers will benefit from the idea of having a good performance in school, they will

know self-determination and motivation in managing school allowance.

The gathered data also give an understanding of the importance of finance in school towards

the students’ determination.

Future researchers will benefit from this study in terms of using this as a guide in

identifying students’ determination to study and if it is a factor of motivation.

II. LITERATURE REVIEW

This study is supported by the different articles from the variables school

allowance and student determination in studies.

Socioeconomic status is divided into three major parts high, middle, and low.

Students found that those major parts influence their academic achievement and

that adolescents with high and middle socioeconomic status have better academic

achievement than those with low socioeconomic status (Singh & Choundhary,

2019) Students who have full support from their parents have a great possibility

that they will have a better academic performance in school. They will be more

active in performing school activities and possibly they will be more punctual in

submitting paperwork, outputs, and projects for they have enough financial support

from their parents (Jakosalem 2020). The dominant factor of financial stability is

the habit of saving. Individuals will have financial satisfaction if they know how to

manage their finances (Arifin, 2019).

These articles are related and have a supporting data in order for the study to

become strong and convincing. These anchor the content of the study, which are

the school allowance and students’ determination in studies.

III. METHODOLOGY

2.1 Participants

The study will utilize convenient sampling to enlist participants, selecting them

based on factors like proximity, availability, or willingness to take part.

Specifically, individuals experiencing financial contentment with their

allowances will be chosen. To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the

topic, the researchers aim to involve college students who are currently facing

financial satisfaction.

2.2 Instrument/survey questions

The study will employ a quantitative approach, specifically a descriptive

correlation, focusing on college students who are dealing with financial

satisfaction. Through this survey, the researchers aim to understand their

emotions and viewpoints concerning their financial contentment with their

allowances. The survey questions will cover essential aspects such as financial

management, and the perspectives of college students.

The following questions will be asked to the participants:

1. How much is your allowance every day?

2. On a scale of 1-3 how satisfied are you with your given allowance?
IV. HYPOTHESIS

- Null Hypothesis (H0): There is no significant difference between the amount

of allowance given by students and the level of financial satisfaction they feel.

- Alternative Hypothesis (H1): There is a significant difference between the

amount of allowance given by students and the level of financial satisfaction

they feel.

V. ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

1. How much is your allowance every day?

Fig. 1
The table illustrates the distribution of daily allowances received by college

students. The 100-200 pesos range has the highest number of responses, with

14 replies, making up 46.67% of the total. On the other hand, the 601 pesos

and above range has the least responses, with only 1 reply, accounting for

3.33%. This suggests that a majority of students receive modest daily

allowances.

2. On a scale of 1-3 how satisfied are you with your given allowance? (3 being

the highest)

Fig. 2

1.) df =n - 1

= 30-1

df= 29

2.) 100%-95% = 0.05

0.05 ÷ 2 =0.025

3.) CL = 0.05 (2)

CL = 0.025 (1)

t = 2.145

Formula:

μ= Σx

=72

μ= 72

=11486.52

s=145,338/29

s=5,011.66

s=70.79

Since the t-score is -5.42 which is in the rejected region, we can now prove that the
satisfaction rate of students from before is not the same as how students feel in our current

generation since the majority are very satisfied with what they are given.

VI. CONCLUSION

6.1 Findings

The result of the study shows that students are currently very satisfied with their

daily allowances.

6.2 Conclusion

The research study reveals that as time passes, 200 pesos may not be enough for

daily expenses in the future. It is advisable to begin saving to reduce reliance solely

on parental financial support and practice being independent. Thus, students are

likely to be willing to in school even regardless of the amount of their daily

allowance. Students have determination in their studies. They go to school with

eagerness. They produce projects. They do one work for advanced study

6.3 Recommendations

The following are recommendations of the researcher based on the gathered data:

1) Students must be responsible on their own for them to learn and have an output

of their schooling. Students need to focus and motivate themselves to attain goals

in life.

2) Conduct a program that targets how to manage school allowance.

3) Teachers should have an assessment of their students every time there is a

problem about them.

4) Parents should support their students in their school work, assignments, and

projects to boost their determination in school
