I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Describe what a projectile motion is.
b. Determine the two types of a projectile motion and illustrate
the path travel by a projectile.
c. Recognize the application of a projectile motion in relation to
sports.
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrate the projectile motion, impulse and
momentum, and conservation of linear momentum.
B. Performance Standard The learners shall be able to propose ways to enhance sports
related to projectile motion.
C. Most Essential Learning Describe the horizontal and vertical motions of a projectile (S9FE –
Competencies (MELC) IVa-34)
D. Enabling Competencies
(if available write the
attached enabling
competencies)

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Introduction Preliminaries

Prayer Let us pray One student will lead the

opening prayer

Greetings Good morning, class Good morning, Sir Brandis!

(Secretary will check the
Attendance (Checking of the Attendance) attendance ,if there is any
absentee for today class)

Classroom management (The teacher will remind the class

rules before discussion.)

Are you ready to learn? Yes, Sir!

Recall Okay class! Yesterday we discuss

Constructivist ( Thinking Skill ) about the uniformly accelerated
motion or UAM

Do you have any question? If none,

let us start our lesson.

B. Classroom Base Activity: Constructivist ( Activity Based )

Activities
 The students will form into five groups, each group will give
an example of sports (locally sports available in City or
Regional) that show a projectile motion.
Guide questions:
 Is this an example of projectile motion?
 What do you observe about the movement of path?
 What do you think would be the explanation of the
movement?

Analysis: Constructivist ( Thinking Skill )

 By using the given illustration, let the students determine the

positioning of an object.
Picture A Picture B

 In your own definition what is the meaning of projectile

motion?
 How far the distance of the two object to execute the
movement.

Abstraction : Constructivist ( Direct Instruction )

Projectile Motion

 Is a form of motion where an object given an initial velocity is

thrown or projected and is allowed to be acted on by gravity
in a curved-like path.

Horizontal Launched Projectiles

 Are projectiles that are launched with an initial velocity from
an elevated position and follows a curved-like path to the
ground.

Angle-Launched Projectiles
 Are projectile launched at an angle with respect to the
horizontal and rises to a peak while moving horizontally.

Horizontal Launched Projectiles Angle-Launched Projectiles

Application: Constructivist ( Activity Based )

CLASSIFY ME!

Inside the box is a list of sports/games. Let the students classify if

the sports/games whether they exhibit projectile motion or NOT.
