MINUTES OF MEETING - NAAC CRITERION 5
Time: 11.50 A.M TO 12.45 P.M Date: 08-08-2023 Venue: Prof.Dr.S.Karthikeyan’s Cabin

MEMBERS PRESENT:
1. Dr. B. Sivaraman, Prof. & Head / S&H (Owner Criterion 4)
2. Mrs. R. Vijayalakshmi, ASP & HoD i/c / MCA (Owner Criterion 5)
3. Mr. G. Veerabagu, Physical Director
4. Mrs. S. Umadevi, Physical Director

Dr. S. Karthikeyan, Prof. / Mech., Coordinator, started the meeting by welcoming


everyone and briefed them about the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) and the importance of
getting accredited. Further, he emphasized the proper understanding of NAAC Assessment &
Accreditation (A&A) Process and appropriate data / file management by the faculty in
maintaining the quality. An interactive presentation on Institutional Accreditation Manual for
SSR, revised SOP, and public disclosure of benchmarks published by NAAC on 05.12.2022, was
carried out. The ideas discussed during the presentation are as follows:

1. A general briefing about Institutional Information on Quality Assurance (IIQA), and A&A
process with an outline of all Seven Criterions stated below:
1. Curricular Aspects (100)
2. Teaching-Learning and Evaluation (350)
3. Research, Innovations, and Extension (110)
4. Infrastructure and Learning Resources (100)
5. Student Support and Progression (140)
6. Governance, Leadership, and Management (100)
7. Institutional Values and Best Practices (100)

2. Qualitative metrics (Q1M) and Quantitative metrics (QnM), Data templates, supporting
documents, DVV, were explained.

A detailed discussion with the physical directors have been made on Criterion 4:
Infrastructure and Learning Resources with a weightage of 100 marks of which three
Qualitative metrics (QlM) for 60 marks and 3 Quantitative metrics (QnM) for 40 marks and
Criterion 5: Student Support and Progression with a weightage of 140 marks of which
one Qualitative metric (QlM) for 10 marks and 3 Quantitative metrics (QnM) for 130 marks
was facilitated for collection and prope r maintenance of supporting files.

3. The Physical Directors were instructed to maintain the following files and registers
regularly:
 Stock Register
 Academic Year Plan
 Systematic procedure for conducting sports
 Ground Specification for various events as per AICTE norms
 Report maintenance for events (Circular, Team List, Attendance, OD
letters, Attendance, List of Winners, Geo-tagged Photographs, etc…)
4. Data sheets for Quantitative metrics of the Criterion 4 & 5 along with SOP and benchmarks
were explained and discussed.
5. It is suggested to be ready with necessary documents and data sheets connected with
criterion 5 as above by presuming AY 2022 - 2023 as the recent academic year for the audit
proposed on 02.02.2023 to perform a gap analysis.
