CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Write here the background of the study. Make sure to use Arial as your font.

The font should be in consistent 12. The margins should be 1” or 1 inch on all sides

of the document. The spacing should be double spaced. Make sure that the size of

the paper is A4. Add a page number on the upper right corner of the paper. Don’t

add a page number on the first page of the chapter just like this one. Before

continuing to the next subsection below, leave one space.

Theoretical Framework

Write the relevant theories that will be used in the study here.

Paradigm of the Study

Write your research paradigm or the conceptual framework here. One of the

possible paradigm to follow is the IPO Model as shown below. Introduce a figure in

the text before showing the actual figure. For example: The conceptual framework to

be followed in the study is shown in Figure 1. Leave a space before the figure

below. Write the Figure title just below the image.

Figure 1. The IPO Model to be followed in the study.

If you noticed, there is also a space after the figure before continuing in this

paragraph. Continue discussing the conceptual framework shown above here. Leave

a space before the next subsection.

In case you want to put a table, also introduce the name of the table before

putting it below. The findings of Reyes (2020) is summarized in Table 1. Leave a

space before the figure below. Write the Table title above the table.

Table 1. Total Population of Grade 8 Students per Section.

Section Male Female Total
Charity 17 16 33
Fidelity 14 19 33
Righteousness 20 13 33
Generosity 14 18 32
Purity 14 22 36
Total 79 88 167
Footnotes written here can be at smaller font as long as it is readable e.g. Arial 10

Put the discussion of the table here. Please follow the format of the table shown

above. It’s not recommended that tables be cut (one part on the previous page, and

the remaining part on the next page), hence adjust spacing if necessary.

Objectives of the Study

The general objective of the study is to...

Specifically, the study aims to answer the following questions:

1. Question 1

2. Question 2

3. Question 3 and so on. Again, don’t forget to leave a space before the next

subsection below.

Hypothesis

Write your hypothesis here. Hypothesis should only be made if there is an

inferential statistic involved in one of the objectives. Only one hypothesis is written

and that should be the null hypothesis. Again, don’t forget to leave a space before

the next subsection below. Remember, null hypothesis is only applicable if your

research is quantitative in nature.
