The diagram below shows a photocell that emits electrons when a certain frequency
of electromagnetic radiation is incident on the metal plate.

10.3 Calculate the work function of this metal. (3)

10.4 The intensity of the incident light is now increased. State how this increase in
intensity will affect the reading on the ammeter.

10.5 Another light source shines light onto the same metal and the emitted electron
moves away from the metal surface with a velocity of 5 x 106 m.s-1.
