(0) Zero Conditional


Facts witch are generally true or scientific facts.

Present Simple + Present Simple

If you heat ice, it melts.


If it rains, you get wet.
If you steal, you going to jail.

If you heat water to 100°C, it boils.


If you put together water and oil, it get separate.
If you drop something, it falls.

(1st) First Conditional


A possible situation in the future. Predicting a likely result in the future (if condition happens).

Present Simple + Simple Future (Will, Won´t)

If it rains, we will cancel the trip.


If you study, you will pass the exam.
If it rains, you won´t go to school.

If you don´t take a shower, you will suck.


If don´t behave in school, you won´t have your cellphone.
If you don’t´stop smoking, you will die.

(2nd) Second Conditional


Hypothetical or unlikely situations. Unreal or improbable situations now or in the future.
Advises.

Past Simple + Would/Could + Verb

If I won the lottery, I would travel a lot.


If I had money, I would buy a new car.
If I were you, I would take care of my health more.
If I were you, I would stop drinking.
If I were you, I would stop doing exercise.
If I had more time, I would read more.
If I could sing, I were be famous.
She would help me, If she were rich.

What would you do if you were rich? – If I were rich, I would buy a lot of clothes
What would you do if you could fly? – If I could fly, I would fly very high
What would you do if you saw a ghost? - If I could saw a ghost, I would run
What would you do if you could travel back in time? – If I could travel back in time, I would
travel to the past and change some things.
(3nd) Third Conditional
The person imagine a different past. Imaginary situation that did not happen.

Past perfect + Would have + Past Participle

If you had studied, you would have passed the exam.


If I hadn’t been sick, I would have gone to your party.
If it hadn’t rained, I would have gone to school.
If you had listened to me, you would have not hurt yourself.
If I had passed Math, my mom would have bought a Play Station.

Fix = Arreglar
Mistake = Error
