Objective(s):

Become familiar with basic features of Microsoft Excel.

Learning MS Excel starts with understanding its interface, including ribbons, tool-bars, and worksheet
layouts, for efficient use of rows, columns, and cells. Next, mastering data entry and formatting ensures
data is input, modified, and organized clearly using fonts, borders, and number formats. Formulas and
functions allow users to perform calculations and analyse data, from simple arithmetic to advanced
operations. Excel also helps in managing large datasets through sorting, filtering, and creating
structured tables.

Note: No submission is accepted on after deadline even on Email.

Consider a company with 15 employees, where each employee is paid on an hourly basis.Your task is to create a
dataset for managing the salary details of these employees. The dataset should include the following columns:

Employee Serial Number: A unique serial number for each employee.

Employee Name: The full name of each employee.
Per Hour Salary: The hourly wage of each employee, represented with the dollar sign ($).
Total Number of Hours Worked: The total number of hours the employee has worked.

Formatting Requirements:

All data should be properly formatted and aligned.

The first row should act as the header row, clearly labelling each column (Employee Serial Number,
Employee Name, Per Hour Salary, Total Hours Worked).
Ensure that the dollar sign is used consistently in the "Per Hour Salary" column to represent currency.

Task 3:

Calculating Employee Salaries with Tax Deduction

Based on the previously mentioned salary management dataset, you now need to calculate the total salary
for each employee and apply a tax deduction.

Additional Columns to be Added:

Total Salary (Before Tax): The calculated salary for each employee before any tax deductions.
Tax Deduction: The amount deducted from each employee's salary due to the 3% tax.
Payable Salary (After Tax): The final amount each employee will receive after the tax deduction.

Ensure that the dataset reflects:

Per Hour Salary
Total Number of Hours Worked
Total Salary (Before Tax)
Tax Deduction
Payable Salary (After Tax)

Task 4:
Filter the salary management dataset in Excel to display only employees who earn more

what insights could you gain from the resulting data?
