INTRODUCTION
To achieve more sustainable and economical energy options, schools are seeking new
methods to lessen their dependence on conventional power sources. One innovative
approach involves developing hybrid energy systems that can be integrated into common
devices like clip fans, enabling them to generate efficient and environmentally friendly
energy. Unlike traditional energy generation, which depends on external power supplies,
these hybrid systems can directly capture mechanical energy from the device. Using
electromagnetic induction, a well-established principle, these systems can transform the
rotational movement of a clip fan into electrical energy, which could then be used to power
small electronics or enhance overall energy efficiency.
However, developing an effective hybrid energy generation system within a clip fan
involves addressing several key challenges. These include refining the design to maximize
energy output, ensuring that the energy generated is sufficient to power electronic devices,
and supporting the fan's primary function without compromising its performance.
Additionally, there is a crucial to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of this technology and
determine its practicality for broad implementation in school. This research seeks to
address these challenges and develop a practical hybrid energy system that can be
integrated into clip fans, offering a new way to harness energy in everyday life
At Lutucan Integrated National High School, the rising energy costs and frequent power
outages have become significant challenges, affecting both the educational environment and
operational efficiency. Given the school’s reliance on traditional energy sources, there is a pressing
need to explore alternative energy solutions that can offer greater sustainability and cost-
effectiveness. Many students and staff experience disruptions due to inconsistent power supply,
which affects daily activities and the school’s genre general comfort level.
The current global energy crisis has highlighted the urgent need for renewable energy
sources, particularly in educational settings where resource constraints and environmental
concerns are prominent. While conventional energy sources are dependable, they lead to
environmental harm and higher utility costs. Therefore, it is crucial to create and incorporate
renewable energy solutions into school facilities.
Recent studies suggest that hybrid energy systems, which combine various energy
generation technologies, could be a viable solution. For instance, integrating electromagnetic
induction into everyday devices like clip fans can create a more efficient energy generation system.
These hybrid systems can convert mechanical energy from fan rotation into electrical energy,
potentially reducing reliance on external power sources and providing a more sustainable energy
solution for the school. (Chen et al., 2023; Zheng et al., 2020).

reliability of the hybrid energy system?
HYPOTHESIS
The challenge of frequent power outages in schools has prompted the need for
effective and sustainable energy solutions. The insufficiency of traditional energy sources
fall short in addressing these issues, leading to the creation of hybrid energy systems that
integrate electromagnetic induction and renewable energy. This research seeks to evaluate
whether such hybrid systems can provide significant improvements in energy efficiency and
sustainability. The following hypotheses are proposed to assess the effectiveness and
impact of this hybrid energy generation approach for clip fans:
Primary Hypothesis
H₀: The energy efficiency and sustainability of a hybrid energy generation system for clip fans,
incorporating electromagnetic induction, do not significantly differ from those of traditional
energy sources.
H₁: The hybrid energy generation system for clip fans, which includes electromagnetic induction,
shows a significant improvement in energy efficiency and sustainability compared to traditional
energy sources.
Secondary Hypotheses
H₂: The hybrid energy generation system for clip fans maintains a consistent level of efficiency
and sustainability across varying operational conditions
H₃: The efficiency and sustainability of the hybrid energy generation system for clip fans are
significantly influenced by the integration and design of electromagnetic induction components

management energy use across school facilities. It helps to reduce electricity usage by providing
an affordable solution, particularly in areas such as classrooms that use fans frequently and help
meet the school's overall sustainability goals.

electromagnetic induction within clip fans to enhance mechanical energy production, specifically
within the context of Lutucan Integrated National High School. The study examines design
optimization, energy output, and practical applications, aiming to assess the system's ability to
power small electronic devices and contribute to overall energy efficiency in a school setting.
However, the scope is limited to the use of clip fans, excludes other energy sources like solar or
wind power. Additionally, the research will not address large-scale energy production or
applications beyond the educational environment, and it will be conducted over a specific time
frame, limiting long-term observations.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
The theory that offers an in-depth understanding of hybrid energy generation systems supports this
investigation. Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction, which describes how electromagnetic
induction can transform mechanical energy into electrical energy, is crucial to the study. This
principle states that an electrical current is produced when the magnetic field across a conductor
changes, hence inducing an electromotive force (EMF) (Faraday, 1831). In order to meet the
demand for creative energy solutions inside the school, this idea is essential to understanding how
the rotational motion of clip fan blades can be utilized to produce electrical energy.
The Work-Energy Principle further supports this study by detailing how mechanical energy is
transformed into electrical energy. This principle asserts that the work done on an object is
equivalent to the change in its kinetic energy, which is fundamental for evaluating the efficiency
of energy conversion in the hybrid system (Work-Energy Principle, 2023). The study evaluates the
efficiency with which the mechanical motion of the fan blades is transformed into useful electrical
energy by using this theory. Furthermore, the efficiency of the energy producing system is assessed
using the Thermodynamic Efficiency Theory. According to Carnot (1824), this theory focuses on
the usable energy output to total energy intake ratio, which offers insights into the system's
performance and its capacity to effectively supply the energy needs of the school. The evaluation
of thermodynamic efficiency contributes to the guarantee that the hybrid system provides a
workable and economical resolution.
Systems theory is also essential to the study since it looks at how various components of the hybrid
energy system interact and depend on one another. This approach makes it easier to comprehend
how the system combines with the current school infrastructure and how the clip fan,
electromagnetic induction components, and energy conversion processes function as an integrated
unit (Bertalanffy, 1968).
Lastly, Sustainable Development Theory highlights the importance of balancing economic growth
with environmental protection. This theory is relevant for assessing the environmental benefits of
using renewable energy sources and reducing reliance on non-renewable power (Brundtland,
1987). It highlights how important it is to incorporate sustainable practices into the school's energy
solutions in order to reduce its environmental effect and encourage long-term conservation.
These theories provide a robust framework for evaluating the design, operation, and impact of the
hybrid energy generation system. Faraday’s Law and the Work-Energy Principle explain the
energy conversion processes, while Thermodynamic Efficiency and Systems Theory assess
performance and integration. Sustainable Development Theory guides the study towards eco-
friendly and sustainable energy solutions.
