Abstract:
Nowadays, ratio of vehicle is increasing very fast that causes ratio of accidents is more.
Mostly accidents happens due to lately/delay of hitting the break of car. Currently The India
has 11% of Ratio of globally deaths on vehicle accidents. per yearly 4.5 lakh road crashes
happens in India.Globally In this existing system, the systems sound an alarm to notify
drivers the collision may be happen.
In this Research, Vehicle Collision Detection system is to develop a safety feature in cars to
avoid colliding with a vehicle like Sensor/Light Sensor which will help the driver to drive
safely. For example, If Car is coming from Behind and at same time fog comes (or any other
specific weather condition) then it will give sensor light to car behind & gives enough time to
slow down i.e. escaping from bad accident
This paper is specially based on the accidents. This system can measure the distance between
the driving vehicle and the object and can also calculate the safety distance of driving Vehicle
based on current speed. If the driver of the car doesn’t keep minimum safety distance
between the vehicle and front object, will warn the drive to slow down the vehicle to avoid
collision.
if the driver doesn’t slow down the vehicle this this system will automatically slow down and
stop the vehicle before collision occur. It

Introduction
The goal of this research is to provide highway obstacle detection in a low cost and good
Solution that makes a low response of brakes of car. A collision avoidance system, also
known as a pre-crash system. It is an automobile safety system designed to prevent or reduce
the severity of a collision. It is like Communication between Vehicle to Vehicle or the front
object.
It works like a detection system before the collision occur. It includes the sensor technology
to alert the driver of vehicle in any obstacle or weather condition. It can also called as vehicle
to vehicle communication by using this system.

Objective:
This project aims to create a low cost, retrospective solution that can be implemented in large
scale to help reduce a significant number of accidents. The system can also help a panicking
driver to safely get out of the crash scenario.
Human machine interface(HMI) is implemented I this system that means it automatically
slow downs the vehicle or detecting the distance between the 2 vehicles. It predicts the safe
driving by using this systems.

Existing system
In the existing system, the systems sound an alarm to notify drivers that a collision may be
imminent a sound simply to alert the driver and get him or her ready to take evasive action
i.e. panicking the driver that accident may gonna occur or the crash is going to happens in
some time & mostly forget/delay the hitting the break of vehicle. Other than this having
features like wrong direction detection, fog detection, weather condition etc. which is
common in all vehicle nowadays.

Literature Review
1) Vehicle – To – Vehicle Communication: It is communication between 2 or more
vehicles for example if this technology is deployed in both vehicles it calculates the
distance and it gives sensor to the driver on monitoring system to slow down speed to
prevent the collision.
2) Vehicle – To – Object Detection: It detects the object in front of the vehicle on some
distance and it gives sensor to the driver on monitoring system to slow down speed to
prevent the collision.
3) Remote Vehicle Monitoring system: In existing system It already having the
monitoring system and shows the alert message to the driver
In advance we can directly gives the sensor signal technology by popping the alert
signal.
Figure. 1. Types of warning message(1]

4) Safety Features on self-driving: Safety features on self-driving made some great steps
forward. One of them is collision avoidance system. Many of them use radars and
cameras to monitor the road and either warn the driver or take control of the vehicle
when needed.

Proposed System/Model:
Collision is avoided by the system even if the driver fails to apply breaks. i.e. It slow downs
the vehicle if is gives the sensor on monitor.
The system can avoid collision through autonomous breaking means it doesn’t panic the
driver.
Measures and detects distances of moving objects.
Ensures total safety even in an emergency

Limitation of Existing System

 If the driver does not known about warning there is a possibility of collision.
 Depends on human responsiveness.
 Negligence can lead to accident.
 Does not ensure total security
Cannot measure moving objects distance.
Flowchart & Working of the model/system :

Conclusion:
The paper review the methodology used in Collision Detection System. It does not follow
any type of standard protocol. It is simple in use. It displays the warning when vehicle driver
wants to display it and when two vehicles comes within 10m distance. This warning display
on the output device which is attached at the backside of the vehicle. It accepts input in three
different ways. For accepting input it has touch based device, Voice recognition device and
Distance Sensor. In Distance sensor, threshold has been defined within 10 m distance. The
more focus of this methodology on displaying warning message to perform Vehicle to
Vehicle communication. This methodology has been performed on small practical project.
Although it contains less and low price hardware components. So this system is cost
effective.
