Subject: BCO’s governance principles and activities and its financial and non-financial performance.

Introduction:

This briefing paper includes BCO’s governance principles and analyses the financial and non-financial
performance of the BCO in the latest financial year, 20X1, providing reasons for and implications of the
results.

(A) BCO’s governance principles

(B) Analyses the financial and non-financial performance of the BCO

(1) Financial Performance:

1) Net Income:
Net income of the BCO has been declined significantly by 0.422Mn which is mainly due to
expenditure raise by 0.463Mn, whereas revenue stuck in same amount as previous years, this is
unfavorable due to this we will face financial issue and ultimately unable to achieve our
objective.

2) Donations, grants and legacies:


Donations income of the BCO has been declined by 1.342Mn, which mainly due to the economic
recession in the country of BCO as which adversely effect the disposable income of the people,
hence our income reduced, this will lead to negatively effect our objective of Ensuring that 100
threatened species are protected and returned to their natural habitat.

3) Wildlife Park shop and café:


Wildlife Park shop and café income has been increased by 0.752Mn which is favorable, this due
to the we raised the price of admission to the wildlife park and our wildlife park facilities
continue to be popular, resulting in increased revenues from our on-site shop and café, This will
leads to enable us to achieve our goal and cover the shortfall in income due to Donation.
4) Sale of property:
We are currently generating income of 0.525Mn from the Sale of property which is favorable, we
are sold this property to fund the extension of the visitor center, which we hope will contribute
to our objective of connecting people with nature.

5) Animal support costs:


Animal support costs has been upsurged by 1.1Mn, this is unfavorable and this is due to world-
class wildlife park and global animal protection programmed is costly, this will have adversely
impact on our aim of to support and increase the number of healthy and thriving wildlife
communities across the world and encourage everyone to be more involved in the natural
environment they live in.

6) Costs of operating wildlife park shop and café:


Costs of operating wildlife park shop and café reduced by 0.63Mn which is favorable, which is
may the result of the cost cutting and rationalization which we currently implemented and may
be due to decline in numbers of visitor by 5012, this is will leads to increase profitability hence
our goal will be achieved.

(2) non-financial performance

1) Number of external education training programmes run:


Number of external education training programmes run has been declined by 7 and Cost per
staff training day 5.88% which is unfavorable, this may be the result of the cost cutting and
rationalization measure taken by us, this will affect the quality of the service and one of our
objectives to Invest in 100 wildlife habitat projects across the world, through providing training
and education for local staff, volunteers and communities.

2) Wildlife Park visitor numbers:


Wildlife Park visitor numbers reduced by 2% which is unfavorable, this may be due to the
currently raise in the ticket price and economy suffer from recession so people reduced spending
on luxuries product. This will lads to reduced our income further which is already declined.
