1.Monitoring – the key to this principle is to circulate while


students are working, make the rounds to check on their
project.
2.Focusing – be sure you have the attention of everyone in the
classroom before you start your lesson. Don’t attempt to
teach if the children are still noisy.
3.Modeling – values are caught, not taught
4.Direct instruction – give clear and specific instructions for an
activity.
5.Nonverbal cuing – can be facial expressions or hand signals.

6. Environmental control – pupils enjoy an environment that


changes periodically. Include personal items in your classroom.
A family picture on your desk will trigger personal
conversations with your students.
7. Handling inappropriate behavior – how are you going to deal
with the learners who have inappropriate behavior in class, for
example if bullying, how are we going to deal with these
learners. (Find where they coming from, find the reason why
they behave that way for us to give appropriate solution to the
problem.

8. Humanistic I-messages – expressions of feelings, learners can


tell if we are sincere or not. So let us show them that we love
and care for them.

9. Positive discipline – a great asset in life since it will help a


teacher cope with many problems and challenges the best way.
