INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Nowadays, computers serve an important role in our society, most especiallyin the

school setting. Most schools use computers to help their students deal with our modern

technology. But as the population of the students continues to grow, many schools face

difficulties in handling their enrollment through a manual process. One of the solutions to

this problem is to change manual enrollment to a computerized system. The System

Design Project, Enrollment System will provide the needed information in a faster, more

convenient way by storing files of the student enrollees in a computer system that will

lessen the effort of faculty and staff on storing files of every student. This information

here can be viewed quickly without worrying that a single file might be lost. The idea

behind an enrollment system is not a new concept. As student enrollees increase every

year, the enrollment procedure becomes more challenging. This program will only serve

to alleviate the problem facing enrollment by providing an easier way to handle the

In todays era, gadgets has become an important element in millenials, not only for them

but also to those people around the world. According to forman(2007), in his perspective

on Mobility, Organizations, System and Technologies can lead to organizational changes

that range from improvement of day to day operation and for easy and access it provides

users. Nowadays in the modern and new technology doing impossible things is now

become possible like the people now can buy online. Every single thing in this world can

be done so fast with the help of science and technology to us. Most of us now is using

technology or devices to transact fastest and easiest way of living. Technology seems to
have played an important role in today’s generation. Most importantly in school or

institution, today the use of technology has been an effective tool on improving such as

information system to organize the data.

Online enrollment has always offered convenience and efficiency, and todays parent are

busier than ever. They expect the convenience and ease of submitting their paperwork

online, but the benefits of online enrolment systems are not limited to just parents.

Administrators and also benefit from these system. (Curacubby Team, 2020). Online

enrollment plays a vital role in all educational institutions as they manage information

about students, track courses and create enrollment lists.

According to Agarwal et. al (2021) The main idea behind developing a web based

software (Student Information System) to store and maintain student and academic

records is to develop a cost effective system and to create an environment friendly way.

Also, the modern world demands less paper work and more digital work in order to make

operations easy and safe. This software also eliminates the chances of data theft and

data loss. Hence, in short the software is better in all aspects. .(

According to the thesis documents made by Ibay, Villegas, Madisa, Clemen andabenes

(2014) applying the automation of the enrollment system of a school will significantly

help the staffs and management in organizing the information of the students. This

system will help the officials to look for certain information in just a matter of few clicks

without having to look for it under a drawer with piles of papers. In an educational

According to Lovelock, Wirtz & Chew (2009), Online Enrollment System (OES)is one kind

of Self-Service Technologies because students use it to take their orders from the service

(School) by themselves. By using EOS, students as well as school have some advantages;

Firstly, OES can help students save time for a reason that they can avoid many

unnecessary steps, such as waiting in many lines to get the form, filling the form and

waiting for supervisor to get advices. In addition, for some students living far from school

they can also save time and transport cost since they are able to directly enroll their

courses by OES without going school. (

The Digital Enrollment is highly effective in integrating all important processes,

transactions, and academic regulations of the institution, resulting in the effective

transmission of useful and viable data. It provides all the necessary features and

flexibility that modern leading institutions demand. In today's demanding environment,

there is a continually growing necessity to achieve goals while also enhancing

adaptability to drive innovation and growth, which is exactly what this system provides.

Based on the observations that the proponents conducted, the researchers found out

that on the manual system that the school is presently using, information and records are

not kept accordingly that causes slow retrieval of important papers and documents.

Additional to that, there searchers found school is heavily crowded during enrollment

According to Custodio and Castro (2016), enrollment procedures in many universities,

not only in the Philippines, are still carried out manually, even though the internet and

other advanced technologies have been introduced. The objective of this research is to

create and establish an online registration and grade evaluation system to assist in

improving the Pre-Enrollment Procedure. The developed system can support the different

colleges within the University with their enrollment procedures, thereby reducing

inaccuracies and errors.

The shift toward online enrollment systems is particularly significant in the context of the

Philippines, where the demand for efficient and user-friendly platforms is growing. As the

landscape of education evolves, the integration of technology into enrollment processes

not only meets the needs of students but also aligns with global trends in higher

education.This study focuses on the perception of the students in web-based platform for

online enrollment at the Philippine College of Northwestern Luzon (PCNL). By examining

the global advancements in digital enrollment systems, the research aims to explore how

such platforms can improve the enrollment experience for students, faculty, and

administration. The findings will contribute to a better understanding of the benefits,

challenges, and best practices associated with online enrollment in the context of

Philippine higher education.

The Philippine College of Northwestern Luzon uses a manual system in its enrollment

operations. This starts when a new student enrolls. He manually fills-up the information

slip in two (2) copies - registrar and student copies giving him redundancy of work. On

the part of the old student, the admission in-charge retrieves his student record

from the filing cabinet or folders or logbook for a need to update. With this kind of

storage and with the absence of security student records are prone to file loss.

Moreover, preparation of different reports will also be part of the workload of the

admission in-charge that requires a lot of effort. These are several of the reasons why

the proponents thought of the proposed system. We believed that with the

computerized enrollment system of Philippine College of Northwestern Luzon, it will

lessen the workload of the admission in-charge, it will provide accurate reports and

also the enrollment processes will be performed much faster than a manual system

that will surely benefit not only the students but the administrator as a whole

Importance of the Study

The online student enrollment system allows international students to enroll online

without traveling to the campus and incorporates business rules, notifications, and a

high-satisfaction user experience (Then, P. 2006). The online student enrollment system

incorporates key school-specific features, such as rule enforcement and automated

notifications, to ensure that the enrollment process aligns closely with school

requirements and schedules. By applying these rules, the system verifies that students

reduces errors in the enrollment process. Notifications keep students updated on

important deadlines, enrollment status, and upcoming steps, facilitating a
