Calvary greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.Halleluyah to the
Almighty God. Thus far He has helped us to witness another year in The
Redeemed Christian Church of God, with the theme: THE SANCTIFIED.
God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and
without blemish before Him in love, predestinating us unto sonship through
Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.
Sanctification gives you victory over sin and guarantees answers to prayers; it is
the bridge between your prayers and the answers.
Saying NO to sin is simply a process of grace by which a believer is separated from sin, becomes dedicated
to God's righteousness and set apart for a sacred purpose.
The Sanctified is the theme for 2024/2025 Zeal Edition, whereby our focus must be on how to please God
in holiness and truth.
I pray that the Almighty God will sanctify you and prepare you for His good works this year in Jesus' name.

INTRODUCTION
The Holy Spirit is a person and as a Christian, we need to know that
the Holy Spirit has been a part of the Trinity of God since the
beginning of time. The believers at Ephesus were aware of their need
to live a better life, but they were not aware of the power of the
Holy Spirit to enable them to do so. Their experience demonstrates
the truth that without the Holy Spirit we cannot please God. Thus,
without the Holy Spirit we are incomplete Christians. In fact,
Scripture tells us in John 4:24, "God is Spirit, and those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and truth."
To know the Holy Spirit is to know the characteristics of the Holy
Spirit.
IDENTITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
In Acts 19:1-2, Paul came across some men who were confused about the
Holy Spirit. Many today are just as confused.
Some say that the Holy Spirit is nothing more than a feeling or experience.
What does the Bible tell us about the identity of the Holy Spirit?
He goes by many names.

The "Comforter" - John 14:16
The Spirit of the Father" - Matthew 10:20
The Spirit of the Lord" - Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the living God" - 2 Corinthians 3:3
The Spirit of grace" - Hebrews 10:29
The Spirit of Truth" - John 14:17
The Spirit of Christ" - 1 Peter 1:11
The Spirit of God" - Genesis 1:2; Matthew 3:16

The Holy Spirit (who is the Spirit of the Living God) comes to live inside
every person that believes in Jesus and has been spiritually born again,
When He does, He begins to sanctify them to make them more like Jesus
overtime. Where there are false beliefs, harmful thinking, emotional
brokenness, ungodly behavior, bad habits, etc.
1. He will lead to truth, 2. Godly thinking, 3. Emotional healing,
HOW
DOES THE 4. Godly behavior 5. Good habits
HOLY 6. The Holy Spirit sanctifies by washing the heart and renewing the mind (Tit
SPIRIT 3:4-7).
SANCTIFY? 7. The Holy Spirit sanctifies by assuring the Believer of the indwelling
presence of Jesus Christ (1 John 3:24).
8. The Holy Spirit sanctifies by helping the Believer understand the Scriptures
(1Cor 2:10-16; Eph 3:3-6).
9. The Holy Spirit sanctifies by attesting to the reality of Believer's faith,
brands the Believer as a property of God's, and guarantees his inheritance in

HE IS A PERSON IN THE GODHEAD
1. He speaks (1 Timothy 4:1).
2. He is insulted (Hebrews 10:29).
3. He forbids (Acts 16:6).
4. He possesses knowledge (1 Corinthians 2:9 - 11).
5. He possesses will (1 Corinthians 12:11).
6. He is sinned against (Acts 5:4; 1 Thess 5:19; Matthew
12:31).
7. He grieves (Ephesians 4:29)
8. He guides (2 Peter 1:20-21).

The Holy Spirit is God.
The Holy Spirit has thoughts and a will. The Holy
Spirit can be grieved and even insulted. But He can
also be pleased as we rely on Him to give us the
strength to live in a way that's consistent with God's
plan for us.
The Holy Spirit thinks about believers in Christ and
responds to them.
He knows the Father's thoughts and communicates
those thoughts to them. When you pray or read the
Bible and sense God speaking to you through that,
that is an example of the Holy Spirit at work in your
life.
Let us always respect what
the Holy Spirit has revealed
about Himself.
