HEAD OF IT SYSTEMS / APPLICATIONS & DESIGN JULY 2005 - JUN 2007 Raytheon Systems Limited, Glenrothes JOB ROLE * * * * * Maintain the Company software base. Actively run all the IT Governance groups Consultant to the business Leaders on software issues for the business Company consultant for all aspects of ERP both present and future Responsible for the Design, research, develop, test, and implementation of new software both Commercial and Engineering Base * New software technology evaluation and implementation * Preparing and managing reports, project plans and budgets (1-2 million pounds per annum) * In charge of technical software team recruitment, development and performance management KEY ACHIEVEMENTS * Support for the Six Sigma & lean Manufacturing Processes o During my time as Head of Systems Applications & Design I supported in excess of 60% of all projects run by the Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing groups. These projects were very varied and encompassed by the administration functions and t he shop floor functions. All these projects required analyst skills and sight of company data normally reported in totally new formats and combined differently than normal. * Represented Raytheon Systems Limited in the Raytheon Company Systems and Appli cations Council o This council was responsible for the systems and applications that were deploy ed throughout Raytheon worldwide. As the UK representative I was responsible for all activities relating to this council within the UK. * Manage all 3rd Party suppliers of IT Software solutions. * Successfully integrated the IT and business governance processes to ensure tim ely and effective business support o I was responsible for the delivery of a Governance process that would enable t he business and IT to ensure that we were implementing the best solutions for th e business. This governance process gave both IT and the business the ability to express to the other what their future plans were so that both parties were rea dy for any changes to the business. I personally sat on these boards to ensure t hat IT was represented at a senior level and from the business during the initia l setup of each group and for the first year the senior representative had to be a senior manger from the business i.e. the finance board was headed up by the C FO and the supply chain board was headed up by the Director of Supply Chain. * Managed the IT involvement of a company wide ERP replacement program o I ran the search for a new ERP solution that would eventually encompass all of the RAYTHEON SYSTEMS LIMITED landscape. There were initially 8 companies that w ere given the ITT (invitation to tender) and we eventually settled on SAP as the solution that would be used. During this process I used a 3rd party company to assist RAYTHEON SYSTEMS LIMITED in the creation of the ITT as we did not have th e time to deal with 8 individual companies and it was therefore more cost effect ive to use the 3rd party. Due to the financial situation it was decided to wait before the deployment began and gain the assistance of Raytheon Company (the par ent of RAYTHEON SYSTEMS LIMITED). Due to my business knowledge and my knowledge of the ERP process I was used as business expert as well as running the IT proce ss. * Successfully negotiated highly lucrative IT contracts with third party softwar e suppliers
* Liaised closely with all departments within RAYTHEON SYSTEMS LIMITED to ensure timely delivery of systems as per original specifications * Implemented a full COGNOS business intelligence, financial planning & cost acc ountancy system, saving over 500K o Raytheon required a good solid financial and business management reporting sys tem as well as business intelligence tools. I ran the project that implemented t hese tools in the first instance and then handed over the project to one of our project managers once the project was running smoothly. * Trained, mentored and motivated staff to meet the challenges of new system int roduction * Efficiently managed both commercial and engineer application teams based in Gl enrothes, Harlow & Londonderry * Helped develop highly accurate technical specifications and test plans for bot h internal and external use * Helped in the development and modification of exiting systems to improve opera tional efficiency DEPUTY HEAD OF IT HEAD OF IT SYSTEMS / APPLICATIONS & DESIGN JUNE 2003 - JULY 2005 Raytheon Systems Limited, Glenrothes JOB ROLE * * * * * * * Deputies for Head Of IT for any company requirements when he was not available Maintain the Company software base. Actively run all the IT Governance groups Strategic vision, planning and direction Lead consultant on software and hardware issues for the business Company consultant for all aspects of ERP both present and future Responsible for the Design, research, develop, test, and implementation of new software both Commercial and Engineering Base * New software technology evaluation and implementation * Preparing and managing reports, project plans and budgets (1-2 million pounds per annum) * In charge of technical software team recruitment, development and performance management KEY ACHIEVEMENTS * Manage all 3rd Party suppliers of IT solutions. o I was responsible for the management of all 3rd party software suppliers while I was Head of Application and Design, and was responsible for all suppliers bot h hardware and software while I was IT manager for the Glenrothes facility and a lso Interim Head of IT. These roles encompassed all aspects of the supplier rela tionship including the negotiation of any new contracts, maintenance of any new contracts and all financial reporting associated with them. * Instrumental in introducing a full gated project management methodology to ens ure smooth/efficient delivery of systems o The process was designed in a very similar to PRINCE2, it was fully gated and was administered by a project board for each project. This ensured that all pro jects were fully committed to by both the business leader and the IT management. After the delivery of this process our success rate for successful implementati on rose by 60% in the first year. The measurements used were both cost and sched ule. * Successfully integrated the IT and business governance processes to ensure tim ely and effective business support o I was responsible for the delivery of a Governance process that would enable t he business and IT to ensure that we were implementing the best solutions for th e business. This governance process gave both IT and the business the ability to express to the other what their future plans were so that both parties were rea
dy for any changes to the business. * Successfully negotiated highly lucrative IT contracts with third party softwar e suppliers * Streamlined and restructured the in-house systems development cycle to reduce development time frames o All developments were undertaken using the new project process and the governa nce groups had to authorise all work that was to be undertaken by the developmen t teams. This ensured that IT was delivering the most important solutions to the business. As we all know It is not an unlimited resource so ensuring that IT is delivering the most important solutions ensures that IT is staying as cost effe ctive as possible. * Liaised closely with all departments within Raytheon Systems Limited to ensure timely delivery of systems as per original specifications * Trained, mentored and motivated staff to meet the challenges of new system int roduction * Efficiently managed both commercial and engineer application teams based in Gl enrothes, Harlow & Londonderry * Helped develop highly accurate technical specifications and test plans for bot h internal and external use * Helped in the development and modification of exiting systems to improve opera tional efficiency INTERIM HEAD OF IT - JUN 2003 Raytheon Systems Limited, Glenrothes JOB ROLE * * * * * * r * Strategic vision, planning and direction Lead consultant on software and hardware issues for the business Company consultant for all aspects of ERP both present and future Design, research, develop, test, and implement new software New software technology evaluation and implementation Preparing and managing reports, project plans and budgets (5 million pounds pe annum) In charge of team recruitment, development and performance management SEPT 2002

Each site was responsible for it`s own IT and many projects were being worked on by more that 1 site in i solation. I embarked on a re-organization plan that was accepted by the senior t eam and was later implemented. This plan was to re-structure the IT function int o functional streams. At this time I took up the role as Head of Systems Applica
