o Leadership Camps: Focused on developing leadership skills, especially for
cadets aiming for the armed forces.
o Centrally Organized Camps: These include Thal Sainik Camp (Army),
Nau Sainik Camp (Navy), and Vayu Sainik Camp (Air Force) which
specialize in service-specific training.

The syllabus includes physical activities like drills, obstacle training, firing, map reading, and
social service work. Exams are conducted after each phase of training, and successful cadets

the armed forces.

2. Indo-China War 1962:

The Indo-China War of 1962 was a major conflict between India and China. The primary
reason was the dispute over the boundary between the two countries, specifically in the Aksai
Chin area in the western Himalayas and Arunachal Pradesh in the east.

 China attacked Indian positions in October 1962, making rapid advancements.

Despite the bravery of Indian soldiers, the Chinese made deep incursions into Indian
territory.
 The war ended in November 1962 when China declared a unilateral ceasefire and
withdrew its forces from the eastern sector, but it retained control over Aksai Chin.

This war exposed the weaknesses in India’s military preparedness and led to significant
changes in defense policies.

activities like aeromodelling and microlite flying.
 Republic Day Camp (RDC): The most prestigious camp held annually in New
Delhi, where selected cadets from across the country participate. It includes the
Republic Day Parade and competitions like drills, cultural programs, and social
awareness initiatives.
