Beginning in Atlanta (1886-1892)

It was in 1886 in New York Harbor and the workers were building the Statue of Liberty. Eight hundred miles away, another great symbol was to be found. Like many people who have changed the history, John Pemberton, a civil war veteran a chemist in Atlanta, was inspired by mere curiosity. Because he liked to play with medicinal formulas, one night, looking for a quick cure for a headache mixed up a caramel-colored liquid into a pot. When he finished it, he went to a local chemists. Here, this mixture was combined with soda and tested by the clients who have all admitted: this new drink was special. The chemists began selling the mixture with 5 cents for a drink. Pemberton's accountant, Frank Robinson, named the mixture Coca-Cola and wrote the name in a manuscript. Until today, Coca-Cola is written the same. In the first year, the company sold about 9 glasses of Coca-Cola a day. A century later ,The Coca-Cola Company produced over 10 billion gallons of juice. Unfortunately, Pemberton, he was more an inventor than a businessman, and didnt suspect that he invented one of the most successful products in the world. Between 1888 and 1891, Pemberton sold the company to a businessman from Atlanta called Asa Griggs Candler for a total of $ 2300. Candler became the first president of the company and the first to bring the company a vision of business

After Atlanta (1893-1904

Asa Candler, an innate seller, turned Coca-Cola from an invention into a business. He knew that there were thirsty people and Candler found innovative ways to present this new product. He distributed flyers to the people in order to make them try new soft drink and got the chemists dressed in clothes printed with Coca-Cola. The aggressive promote style worked. Until 1895, Candler had built factories in Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles. Inevitably, the success of the drink led to changes in the way of bottling. In 1894, a Mississippi businessman, Joseph Biedenham, was the first to put the drink in bottle. He sent 12 bottles to Asa Candler, but was not impressed. Although he was a very good business man can, he couldnt realize Coca-Colas true potential will be achieved when it could be bought in a bottle. He didnt realize this thing not even 5 years later when 2 lawyers, Benjamin F. Thomas and Joseph B. Whitehead, bought the exclusive right to sell and bottle the drink for the amount

of $1. Large-scale bottling was made possible in 1899. With contract in hand, joined by John T. Lupton, all of Chattanoga, and began to develop what now has become Coca-Cola bottling system around the world.

Keeping The Brand (1905-1918)

Imitation may be a form of cajolement, but Coca-Cola Company was not flattered by the proliferation of the drinks that imitate it because of the desire to take advantage of the original success. Both the product and the brand needed to be protected. The advertising focused on the authenticity of the Coca-Cola. In 1916, Root Glass Company of Indiana began producing the famous bottle of Coca-Cola. During the years, Coca-Cola Company has grown rapidly, expanding its business in Cuba, Puerto Rico, France and other countries. In 1900 there were 2 bottlers of Coca-Cola and in 1920 there were 1000.

Woodruff Legacy (1919-1940)

Probably no other person had a greater impact upon Coca-Cola than Robert Woodruff. In 1923, 5 years after his father Ernest bought the company from Asa Candler, Woodruff became the president of the company. If Candler presented the U.S. the new drink Coca-Cola, Woodruff presented it to the world in a career of 60 years at the helm of the company. Woodruff was a genius of marketing and took advantage of all the opportunities for expansion. Coca-Cola traveled with USA team at the Olympics in 1928 in Amsterdam, and the logo was printed everywhere, even in the arenas of fighting with the bulls in Spain. Woodruff encouraged all the innovations that helped people enjoy Coca-Cola, making the company not only a great success but also a big part of people's lives. The War and its legacy (1941-1959) In 1941, America entered the Second World War. Thousands of men and women were sent to battle. Woodruff ordered that "every person in uniform to receive a bottle of Coca-Cola for 5 cents, wherever it was located and however it would cost the company". During the war, Europeans enjoyed for the first time Coca-Cola. Between the 40s and the 60s, the countries in which Coca-Cola carried out its activity doubled. America after the Second World War was full of optimism and prosperity. This is reflected in the images used in Coca-Cola ads: happy couples, carefree mothers driving convertible cars

The World of customers (1960-1981)

After 75 years of success with the brand Coca-Cola, the company decided to expand the number of brands: Sprite was introduced in 1961, the TAB in 1963 and frescoes in 1966. This international company grew rapidly and advertising, always an important part of business, truly fulfilled itself in the 70s. In 1978,The Coca-Cola Company was chosen as the only company permitted to sell soft drinks in the Republic of China.

Coca-Cola Light and The New Taste (1982-1989)

The 80s were a period of change and innovation for Coca Cola. In 1981, Roberto C. Goizueta became chairman of the board and CEO of Coca-Cola Company. Goizueta, who had fled the Communist regime of Fidel Castro in 1961, had completely changed the company's strategy: organized all bottlers of Coca-Cola in the U.S. in a public company, Coca-Cola Enterprises, and launched Coca-Cola Light and more . In 1985, Goizueta tried the first changing in Coca-Colas formula and taste. In tests, it was all well, but in the real world, people reacted by asking the original formula back. The critics called it

the biggest mistake of marketing ever made. The original formula was reintroduced and Coca-Cola has increased its advantage over its competitors, advantage that is preserved even today.

Coca-Cola (1990)

In 1886, Coca-Cola is sold in a small chemists in Atlanta. Now, in the second century of its existence, Coca-Cola Company sells about 300 brands in 200 countries. In February 2000, Doug Daft was elected president and CEO. Doug is a veteran in the company, working at Coca-Cola for 30 years and thinks that the company needs to operate locally. Today, every 10 seconds, 126,000 people enjoy a Coke product.

When everything started to work without problems they thought the best, the most practical and effective thing to do should be bottling the Coca-Cola drink in plastic bottles. from 0.5 L up to 2.5 L, bottles that we all know. From its early beginnings, the Coca-Cola drink had a slogan.
