I.RATIONALE:-
This comprehensive course is designed to equip civil engineers with the essential knowledge and skills to address the
intricate relationship between energy, environment, and agriculture. By understanding these interconnected elements,
engineers can develop sustainable infrastructure projects that effectively tackle the unique challenges faced by the
Andaman Islands, such as limited resources, natural disasters, and the imperative for sustainable agriculture

II.INDUSTRY / EMPLOYER EXPECTED OUTCOME: -


In Government agencies, Consulting firms, Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and in construction sectors such as
renewable energy, agriculture, and tourism may benefit from the expertise of civil engineers with a strong understanding of
energy, environmental, and agricultural engineering

2. Set up a small-scale wind turbine and measure its power output in different wind conditions.
3. Conduct a waste audit of a local community on an island and develop a plan for waste reduction and recycling
4. Monitor coastal erosion rates using simple techniques and assess the impact of climate change on local communities
5. Develop a small-scale hydroponic system for growing vegetables in a controlled environment on an island.
6. Conduct a survey of agricultural machinery used in your local area. Analyze the types of machinery used and their
impact on agricultural productivity.

1. Research and analyze the potential of offshore wind power in the Andaman Islands, considering factors

4. Assess the vulnerability of a specific island community in the Andaman Islands to sea level rise and
develop adaptation strategies.
5. Research the impacts of climate change on India, particularly in agriculture, water resources, and coastal areas.
