FAST ADDITIONS - REKHANKANA METHODVI Class
LCM - LINES COUNTING METHOD :
Ø In this method of addition, we don’t count and remember the entire total of the digits to be added.
Ø In Rekhankana Method we add the numbers and whenever we reach 10 or more than 10, we drop 10
then and there, in the form of a line and carryforward the balance if any left with us.
Ø At the ending digit, we put only one single digit in the units digit of the answer.
Ø In the adjacent example 6 + 5 is 11 6
we dropped one line 5
1
under 5 as 10 and 1 is carried 3
4
forward at 2 we got 10 and 2
again 10 is dropped as another line. 0
5
This time nothing is left. 3
7 28
Ø In this example 7 + 5 = 12 5
2
drop - (10) and 2 carried forward 4
5 1
2 + 4 + 5 = 11 drop (10) 7
-------- and 1 is carried forward 4 2
5
1 + 7 + 4 = 12 drop 10 ______ and 2 is carried forward
37
2 + 5 = 7 is taken in units digit of answer
6
Ø In this example, even in the end 5
5
we got 10 and we have to leave 10. 4
If nothing is left in units digit. 7
3
Then put 0 in the units digits 30
