1. Section Length:
The news section should comprise at least three (3) pages. This ensures there is
sufficient space to cover multiple stories and provide comprehensive reporting on various
topics.
The news section must offer a balanced coverage of diverse topics to cater to a wide
audience. The stories should encompass various areas, such as:
o International News: Reporting on significant global events that impact a wide
range of people or have international relevance.
o National News: Coverage of key events, policies, or issues happening at the
country level.
o Regional News: Stories specific to a region, reflecting its unique challenges,
achievements, or events.
o Community News: Local news that resonates with smaller, specific communities
or regions.
o School-Based News: Focused on news about school activities, student
achievements, events, and policies affecting the school environment.
The news section can feature a variety of story formats to provide depth and variety in
reporting. These include:
o Straight or Spot News: Immediate and objective coverage of recent events.
The Board of Judges will have the final say on the selection and evaluation of the news
content. Their decision is final and cannot be challenged. This clause emphasizes the
fairness and integrity of the judging process.
