0 Upgrade Activity:

Pre-Upgrade Steps:

1.Open a ticket to UNIX team to create filesystem for the new informatica 10.4 path
/apps/informatica10.4 with 100 GB space in it. Now you can create /apps/informatica10.4/pc which is
new $INFA_HOME.

Refer INC1306156 for the same.

2.Open a ticket to Unix team to install supported java version of 10.4 under /usr/java8_64

Informatica services on AIX is certified on the following version:

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 8.0.5.40 - pap6480sr5fp40-20190807_01(SR5 FP40)) Download

the following file: Java8_64.jre.8.0.0.540.tar .

>>Platform Operating System Operating System Patch, below is the AIX version of OS level.

AIX 7.1 TL4 OS level: 7100-04 bos.adt.debug Version 7.1.2.0

Use command java -version to check latest installed java version.

Refer INC1306430 for the same

3. check the ulimit value with ulimit -a command on respective server.

time(seconds) unlimited

file(blocks) unlimited

data(kbytes) unlimited

stack(kbytes) unlimited

memory(kbytes) unlimited

coredump(blocks) unlimited

nofiles(descriptors) unlimited

threads(per process) unlimited

processes(per user) unlimited

4. let the ports be default values

• Use command netstat –a to check if the following ports are available for informatica:

• Existing PSX installation server port: 4001.

• Domain port: 6005.

• Service Manager port: 6006

• Service Manager shutdown port: 6007

• Informatica Administrator port: 6008

• Informatica Administrator shutdown port: 6009

• Range of ports for application services ports: 6013 to 6113

5. Set the open_cursors parameter to 4000 or higher for upgrade for the account database account
pmrepo on the repository database else the upgrade will fail. This should be applied to any other DB
account which are having contents in them.

Eg mmrepo, darepo, dqrepo and atrepo—Refer RITM4181353 for the same.

6. The .profile and .profile_forinstall should be edited in such a way that the JAVA_HOME should be
pointing to new Java that is installed by UNIX team.

export INFA_JDK_HOME=/usr/java8_64

export INFA_JAVA_OPTS="-mx1024m -ms512m"

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java8_64

export JRE_HOME=$JAVA_HOME/jre

export INFA_JRE_HOME=$JAVA_HOME/jre

Set IATEMPDIR, JRE_HOME, LANG.

IATEMPDIR=/home/pmrepo/Informatica/pc/server/infa_shared/Cache

LANG=en_US

NLS_LANG=American_America.WE8ISO8859P1

7.(NON-CC) Ask Informatica for the location of SAP RFC library files, then download them from Sap
Market place – Raise request to sap team and get the RFC SDK 7.5(supports 10.4.0) library file from
them .
Refer INC1308302 and INC1309179

8. Please download Informatica 10.4 AIX 64-bit Server Installer here:

https://download.informatica.com/0147721/downloads/Informatica10/informatica_1040_server_aix
-ppc64.tar

Username: 0147721

Password: infalinks

9.Copy the 10.4.0 Informatica software informatica_1040_server_aix-ppc64.tar to

/apps/informatica10.4/software and untar the file using the command tar –xvf file name.

Eg: tar –xvf informatica_1040_server_aix-ppc64.tar

10. Go to $INFA_HOME/isp/config/nodemeta.xml and check the database name is having .world

extension if not, please add that.
