Pre-Upgrade Steps:
1.Open a ticket to UNIX team to create filesystem for the new informatica 10.4 path
/apps/informatica10.4 with 100 GB space in it. Now you can create /apps/informatica10.4/pc which is
new $INFA_HOME.
2.Open a ticket to Unix team to install supported java version of 10.4 under /usr/java8_64
>>Platform Operating System Operating System Patch, below is the AIX version of OS level.

• Use command netstat –a to check if the following ports are available for informatica:
5. Set the open_cursors parameter to 4000 or higher for upgrade for the account database account
pmrepo on the repository database else the upgrade will fail. This should be applied to any other DB
account which are having contents in them.
6. The .profile and .profile_forinstall should be edited in such a way that the JAVA_HOME should be
pointing to new Java that is installed by UNIX team.

7.(NON-CC) Ask Informatica for the location of SAP RFC library files, then download them from Sap
Market place – Raise request to sap team and get the RFC SDK 7.5(supports 10.4.0) library file from
them .

Upgrade steps
2. Backup Repository,
b. Stop all the services except repository service and integrate service.
c. Login to Informatica administrator using pmrepo and click on repository manager and click
on actions at right most corner and backup the repository contents to any location on the
server which has space. Usually it is /home/pmrepo/Informatica/pc/server/infa_shared/Backup ,
give the file name “PSX_Rep_Sand_BeforeUpgrade”.
3. Backup Domain, go to the server and run the below cmd with pmrepo password on x66inrs1 for
backing up the domain before the upgrade. The file will be saved with .rep extension
$INFA_HOME/server/infasetup.sh Backupdomain -da brtuxinfdb04t:1521 -du pmrepo -dp

Upgrade steps:
1.Shutdown Informatica.
cd /apps/informatica10.1/pc/tomcat/bin/
./infaservice.sh shutdown
3.Backup .profile .profile.backup then copy .profile_forinstall .profile; re-logon server putty

which environment you are upgrading by using the below as just a reference.

Domain configuration repository database requirements: Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL
Server, Microsoft Azure SQL database, or Sybase ASE.
One of the following product versions and its supported HotFix or Service Pack
versions must be installed to upgrade Informatica Services on this machine:
- PowerCenter 10.0.0
- PowerCenter 10.1.0
- PowerCenter 10.1.1
- PowerCenter 10.2.0
Pre-upgrade tasks:
While performing the upgrade, verify that the domain is shut down.
If the services exist in the domain, the installer deletes the services during the
upgrade process.

If you reboot or exit the login shell, verify that the login shell can access
Highlight PSX_Dom_Sand
Click ‘Actions’ on Domain Navigator bar -> delete the old License, then click New -> License
( bottom of list )

3. Select the Repository service and upgrade the repository contents. (check ) happen in credit card
Go to Actions Repository Contents upgrade (this may take about one hour)
4. Update the repository property to run in normal mode instead of exclusive by running the below
command or it can be done from admin console.

5. Check the repository service is up and running fine if it is throwing any error like
REP_51002 : Database driver event...Error occurred loading library – this is due to oracle
libraries not loaded properly when starting Informatica services so bouncing the domain
should fix the issue else check the library dependent executables are in proper locations
using ldd cmd.

14. Modify .profile.backup and copy it to .profile, logoff putty and login again,
15. Enabling https using the keystore file of pmrepo, the ketstore file is local to user.
Copy both self-signed key infa_sand.keystore and P66 key infa_sand.jks from
/apps/informatica10.1/pc/tomcat/conf to /apps/informatica10.4/pc/tomcat/conf
