Alpine
Alpine race is predominant in Central Europe and parts of Western/Central Asia. Ripley argued
that the Alpines had originated in Asia, and had spread westwards along with the emergence and
expansion of agriculture, which they established in Europe. By migrating into Central Europe, they
had separated the northern and southern branches of the earlier European stock, creating the
conditions for the separate evolution of Nordics and Mediterranean.
Aryan-
Aryans are an outsider community in this country. They arrived in Bengal before the fifth century
BC. The Aryans gradually spread throughout the subcontinent after entering through the passes of
northern India. Aryans gave birth to Vedic civilization in this country. They have long heads,
narrow and medium noses, fair complexions, men's beards are long.
Aryan, name originally given to a people who were said to speak an archaic Indo-European
language and who were thought to have settled in prehistoric times in ancient Iran and the northern
Indian subcontinent.
Aryans were the group who invaded and conquered ancient India from the north and whose
literature, religion, and modes of social organization subsequently shaped the course of Indian
culture, particularly the Vedic religion that informed and was eventually superseded by Hinduism.
Later, people from different countries came to this country for trade or conquest. The natural
resources of this country attracted people from different countries. The main reasons for coming
to Bengal were:
• First, the zeal to conquer and occupy a new region
• Second, to do business in the wealthy and prosperous Bengal
• Third, suitable environment of Bengal to live in.
• Fourth, to preach the message of Islam
Turks, Pathans, Mughals, Iranians, Abyssinians, and Arabs from Central Asia, Persia, and Turkey
came to live in this country and mixed with Bengali blood. Later the blood of the people of this
region mixed with the English, Portuguese and Dutch.
Thus, it can be seen that Bengali is not a pure ethnic race. There are various types of ethnic groups
influencing the formation of Bengali nation. So Bengalis are a hybrid race.
