Essay

Name: Andy Sarango.

Date: 12-07-2021

 What reasons made you choose English?

The way my story with English started was a bit strange. I always liked it, I was
always good at it but I never thought it would be what I would dedicate my life to.

When I was in school, I always stood out among my classmates, I looked forward to
English classes because they were fun and I liked them more than math or history.
I was quick to answer all the questions and always finished at the top of the exams,
and I had a knack for learning vocabulary and new ways of speaking English.

As time went by and I entered college I continued with the same love for English,
my family enrolled me in English courses, and although it seems very boring to me
it was fun to attend extra English classes. Another aspect that made me realize that I
liked English is that all the music I listened to as a child and even now has been in
English, all my friends listen to reggaeton, but I only listen to music in English, in
fact, it is a way in which I have learned a lot of vocabulary but also with the help of
videos or interviews of my favorite artists that I always listen to in English.
When I was about to graduate my mom asked me one day what I was going to
pursue in college and honestly, I had never thought about it or worried about it until
my mom asked me that question, and the only thing that came to my mind was to
answer "English" since I was very good at it and I liked it, and I thought it was the
most convenient since my mom wanted me to study medicine, my aunt architecture
and another aunt to follow the military, but I knew I was not going to give the best
of me in those careers and I knew that in English I like and I was always good I
would do well.

English has always been something in my life and something that I have always
loved and my dream is to be able to speak English like a native English speaker and
to be able to travel abroad and practice my English with native English speakers.
