General Instructions:
1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with subparts of the
values of 1, 2and 1 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs of 3 marks and
2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in the 2marks
questions of Section E

25 For which value of p does the pair of linear equations given below has unique solutions
4x + py + 2 = 0
2x + 2y + 2 = 0

SECTION C
Section C consists of 6 questions of 3 marks each.
26 The sum of a two-digit number and the number obtained by reversing the digits is 66. If the digits of
the number differ by 2, find the number. How many such numbers are there?

27 The mode of the following frequency distribution is 36. Find the missing frequency f

30 If a, b, c are in A.P., prove that a2+ c2– 2bc = 2a (b – c).

Find the sum of all natural numbers between 250 and 1000 which are exactly divisible by 3

31 Three bells rang at intervals of 4,7 and 14 minutes . All the three bells rang at 6 am. When will they
ring together again ?

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each

32 Find the values of k for which the quadratic equation (3k + 1)x2 + 2(k + 1)x + 1 = 0 has equal roots.
Also find the roots

Adil and Aarav together have 45 silver coins. Both of them lost 5 silver coins each and the product
of the number of silver coins they now have, is 124. Find out how many silver coins they had to start
with

33 If α and β are the zeros of a polynomial f(x) = x2 – 6x + a , find the value of a if 3α +2 β = 20


34 Two different dice are tossed together . Find the probability that the numbers obtained
(i) is a doublet of odd numbers
(ii ) have a sum less than 7
iii) have a product less than 16 OR

A number x is selected at random from the numbers 1,2,3 and 4 . Another number y is selected at
random from the numbers 1,4,9 and 16 .Find the probability that product of x and y is less than 16.

35 The following frequency distribuition gives the monthly consumption of electricity of 68 consumers
of a locality .Find the mean and median of the data and compare them

Case study based questions are compulsory.

36 Your friend Veer wants to participate in a 200m race . He can currently run that distance in 51
seconds and with each day of practice it takes him 2 seconds less .He wants to do it in 31 seconds

Use the above information to answer the


questions that follow

1) Form an AP for the above situation.

2) Find the nth term of the AP

What is the minimum number of days he needs to
practice till his goal is achieved

3) Find the 25th term of the AP


37 Two students A and B went to a library to return some books . The library has a fixed charge for
the first two days and an additional charge for each day after . Student A was issued a book for 10
days and was charged Rs 94 wheras ,student B was issued a book for 8 days and was charged Rs 78
Based on the above information answer the
questions that follow

1 ) Form the pair of linear of linear equations in


two variables from this situatiion

2) What is the fixed charge on each book ?

If another student C was issued a book for 4
days, what is the total amount paid by him?
3) What is the additional charge on a book for
each extra day ?

38 The following diagram shows the position of three electric poles A, B and C in a society park

Inspite of three poles in the park, the kids playing


in the park complained about darkness in the
park.. So the society president decided to place 2
more poles in the park
