5. In an isosceles ∆ABC, BC = 28 and AB = AC = 21. A line drawn
through D intersects AB at E. The area of ∆EDB is half the area of
∆ABC. Find the length of longer line segment among BD and DC.

6. There are 6 colours. Each of the faces of a cube is coloured by a different


colour. How many distinct colour configurations are possible?

7. The decimal representation of a 4 digit number is as xxyy, i.e, it is equal


to 1000x + 100x + 10y + y. If it is a perfect square find the root of this
number.

8. A rectangle with dimensions 377 × 493 is cut into unit squares. How many
squares shall a diagonal cut internally?

9. Let f (x) be a polynomial with integer coefficients. It is given that f (a) =
