ABC+: Advancing Basic Education in the Philippines

In the next 3 years (2024-2027), Bonifacio Central Elementary School is a high performing school in reading whose learners
have strong foundation on basic literacy skills .
The school strongly believes that possessing these skills is essential in making our learners become the life long learners of the
st
21 century .
In collaboration with our stakeholders, our school will identify individual needs , prioritize early literacy interventions , tailor
instructions using Explicit Instruction , utilize learning resources and other supplementary learning materials to strengthen their
passion in learning and reading and further create opportunities for practice and improvement to ensure that every child can
develop a strong foundation in literacy .

SMART Goal: (State your School Shared Vision in the text box provided below. Please take note you can further improve your
SMART Goal based on the developments of your Project Initiative Plan)

III. Project Initiative Description

Developing a strong foundation in basic literacy among learners is crucial. It is a foundation of effective communication
enabling individuals to express themselves clearly both verbally and in writing . Strong Literacy skills are essential for academic
success across all subjects. They enable students to understand instructions , comprehend reading materials and effectively
convey their knowledge through writing. Further literate individuals are better equipped to think critically , analyze information
and make informed decision.
It is for this reason that schools are providing extra instructional time to help children develop a strong foundation in b
asic literacy to prepare them for greater challenges ahead. So then this project is developed to provide learners who have fallen
behind in reading the needed intervention that would lead to the development of their full potential. . On the other hand, this
project also foster collaboration with Parent-Teacher relationships which is essential for establishing school-family partnership
that constitutes the foundation for all other forms of family involvement in education.
This reading literacy Project Rescue 1.0 initiative is a school -wide dynamic and inclusive project that serves as the
embodiment of our school's vision for the school year 2024-2027. At its core, this project is about transforming our school into a
place where instructional literacy is not just a subject but a way of life. We are dedicated to empowering every learner,
regardless of their background or abilities, to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners.
Initiatives like observance of the national reading month, spelling bee , English Olympics, and the like will then be
organized to create opportunities for practice and improvement to ensure that every child can develop a strong foundation in
literacy . Honing them to develop a genuine love for literacy .
The needs assessment phase of the project will identify the areas where these 72 learners need the most help, ensuring
that the program is tailored to their specific needs exposing them interactive and engaging activities that are designed to be fun
for the them making learning a positive and enjoyable experience.
Further , this initiative is aligned with the Schools SIP/AIP under Project DRIVE-PTA . So funds for this iniktiative will
be charged tgo the funds allocated for Project DRIVE-PTA from our school MOOE.
