Leadership Paper

My strongest leadership skills are having effective communication. I am able to address

any type of situation to whomever it should go to. I am also able to control situations from

escalating with the therapeutic communication skills I have. Other leadership skills I have is

advocating for my patients. I always assess my patients and assure I am to identify the needs of

my patients, even if they hesitate to tell me some of their concerns. I would say I am good at

reading people. I am compassionate, reliable, and can solve solutions pretty quick. My

experience and skills as a leader allow me to manage the schedules and shifts effectively and

ensure that patients are well cared for. The elements I intend to add to my leadership capabilities

will enable me effectively to develop my team and serve patients under my care in a better way.

I have successfully coordinated communication between several healthcare providers,

such as doctors, and social workers, specifically, when a patient needed multidisciplinary care in

order to create a thorough treatment plan. I have only been a registered nurse for two years and,

my work and experience have placed me in leadership-testing circumstances on a regular basis.

This is because I’m the only nurse in the prenatal department for the community health center I

work for and I would say I currently use an effective leadership style that enables me to carry out

fundamental leadership responsibilities including providing the other team members that I work

with with the right instructions. Among my duties are managing my team's day and providing

guidance as needed. It is also my duty to provide the new team members with good training so

they may advance in their careers and integrate into the system.

A nurse's job in the healthcare industry involves a lot of duties and obligations, all of

which call for the use of judgment in handling potential crisis situations. In order to give the

patient the safest care possible, the nurse should work with other members of the healthcare team

to set goals and prioritize treatment. Before providing appropriate treatment, nurses frequently

need to be conscious of their own personal views and values. A nurse may take on a role at a

facility as a unit manager or a nurse may use a particular leadership style to guide her team. Me

on the other hand I’ve always been quite shy of being the leader. This is because I feel like I am

to nice and feel like I’m not the type to boss others around.

Therefore, steps I would like to take is communicate with the management, adhere to

hospital policies and procedures, and stay in touch. I want to become a more visionary leader and

make sure I have the necessary tools. These attributes will assist me in guiding my group and

offerings toward a more prosperous future in the sector. I also want to improve my group

dynamics and problem-solving abilities in order to be a more successful leader. In the future, I

want to lead my team with enthusiasm and energy, and I want to be an inspiration to them. A

element of the process is managing information and time. Time management is crucial in the

nursing profession and can affect the standard of care provided. As a nurse, I also intend to

develop my leadership skills through mentoring and coaching interventions. Part of the process

will include training, attending leadership conferences and furthering my studies to give me a

more professional approach to my career.
