Drug Class: Local Anesthetics


Indications (Uses):

Routes - If IV: Rate of Admin: Pain, Analgesia for labor, Sedation

Epidural: 10-20 ml or 0.25-0.75% solution


Side Effect/Adverse Reactions:
Local Infiltration: 0.25% solution
Seizures, Dizziness, Headache, Low BP, Low
Food & Drug Interaction: HR, Palpitations, N/V, CARDIAC ARREST,
Additive effects with other amide local anesthetics Allergic Reaction

Contraindication:
Blocks nerve impulse
Watch BP, HR, RR, Pain, S/S of systemic toxicity. Do not use
generation and hypersensitivity
solution with preservatives for Epidural
conduction
