Mid-Year In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET)

for S.Y. 2024-2025

I. Rationale

The Department of Education’s initiative which is the K-12 Basic Education Program serves as
a pivotal undertaking designed to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, furnish our
learners with enduring opportunities for lifelong learning. Recognizing that teachers play a vital role on
the front lines of education, it becomes imperative to equip them with the necessary skills and tools to
orchestrate meaningful learning experiences.

Consequently, an ongoing commitment to professional development is crucial to ensure that

educators stay abreast of the latest research findings, evolving methodologies in child learning, as well
as emerging technological tools and innovative curriculum resources for the classroom. This continuous
learning process is essential, as teachers serve as the primary interface with learners, making it
imperative that they are attuned to learners' behavior and needs.

The training initiatives outlined serve a dual purpose: safeguarding the welfare of students and
fostering the professional development of teachers. These three-day training will be facilitated by the
Division Office with the following objectives: to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of
inclusive education principle, to capacitate the teachers to teach effectively the diverse learning needs
of learners and empower teachers to serve as an advocate for inclusive education within their school
and communities.

In this context, Tagbilaran City Science High School are poised to conduct the Mid-Year In-
Service Training for Teachers (INSET) SY 2024-2025. Scheduled for November 25-27,2024, from
eight in the morning to five o'clock in the afternoon, this initiative reflects the school's commitment to
maintaining high standards of education and ensuring the holistic development of both students and
educators.
