Ch: 2 “Plant and their systems”
Q 1. Draw and label cross sectional diagrams of following organs of a plant.
i. Stem ii. Root iii. Leaf
Q 2. Draw a web about the ways in which plants can use the food (glucose) made by the
process of photosynthesis.
Q 3. Explain the differences between the process of photosynthesis and respiration in plants.
(Answer must be recorded in the form of columns)
Q 4. Diagrammatically explain the process of transpiration stream in plants.
Q 5. In a white plate, put a circle of colored sweets in the middle. A regular pattern of colors
tends to give the best visual result.
Gently and carefully pour some warm water into the middle of the plate. The aim is to have just
a thin layer of water, not more than halfway up the height of the sweets (if that much). Be
careful to avoid any movement of the plate, the sweets, or the table.

Task-1: Biography: Write the biography on founder of Umayyad Dynasty.
Collage Work: Make a collage by pasting Umayyad artefacts, architecture, art, and
calligraphy. Organise them into a collage with suitable captions.
Internet Search: Search on internet or use library resources to find out the details of Allama
Iqbal’s experience during his visit to Spain. Find out which poem he has written on Tariq bin
Ziyad and the mosque of Cordoba.
Fact File: Make a fact file of Tariq bin Ziyad and Muhammad bin Qasim.
Task-2: Creative Work: Draw a 3D design of circular planned city of Baghdad during Abbasid
Dynasty and write names of doors as well.
Timeline: Make a timeline of first ten caliphs of Abbasid Dynasty.
Biography: Write a biography on Haroon ur Rasheed the prominent caliph of Abbasid
Dynasty.
Collage Work: Make a collage by pasting Abbasid’s artefacts, architecture, art, and
calligraphy. Organise them into a collage with suitable captions.

Task-1
1. View resource map of Pakistan and write the names of cities rich in following resources:
Coal, salt, natural gas, natural oil, cattle raring
2. Make a 3D map of your locality and measure curved line distance on it.
Task-2
1. Make a table showing the description of values on the Richter scale.
2. Draw a cross section of Volcano and label it.
3. Diagrammatically show a seismograph and its parts.
4 .Do research on the case study of 2005 Great Pakistan earthquake and make a fact file on it.
5. Make a flowchart showing the risks and the benefits of living near volcanoes.
Creative work:
Collect photographs that show the damage sustained by buildings and infrastructure after high
intensity earthquakes and tsunamis. Note any interesting point that you may come across in
your finding and write on you booklet. On a blank world map, indicate the areas that
experience earthquakes. You may use an atlas.

2. Make a vocabulary diary and write down all the difficult words on it.

6. Use Google to search the term “passport” and write on a color computer paper.
7. Make a chart about the advantages and disadvantages of ICT devices.
