Mental health refers to the state of our overall well-being, including our emotions, thoughts,
behaviors, and social interactions. It plays a crucial role in shaping how we think, feel, and act,
how we perceive ourselves and impacts how we interact with others, highlighting the balance
Mental health awareness emphasizes the importance of maintaining overall well-being and
understanding the value of good mental health. It focuses on increasing knowledge about the
signs and symptoms of mental health issues and disorders while highlighting the benefits of
On the other hand, it helps reduce stigma, allowing individuals to feel more comfortable seeking
help for mental health challenges. It promotes understanding of mental health issues, enabling
early identification and intervention, which can improve outcomes. Additionally, awareness
fosters supportive environments where people can openly discuss their struggles, leading to
Lepson et al., (2022) stated that in the period between 2020 and 2021, more than 60% of students
met the criteria for one or more mental health disorders, representing an increase of nearly 50%
from 2013. Mental health conditions worsened across all groups throughout the study period. A
person's mental health can change at any point in life due to various events, influencing their
thoughts and behaviors, but early detection and intervention can help prevent the condition from
worsening. Prevention involves understanding the causes, risk factors, and symptoms of mental
health issues, while promoting steps to maintain overall well-being across all age groups (Mental
Health Center, 2024). Mrazek and Haggerty (2015) stated that mental health outcomes depend
on the interactions of risk and protective factors in the child, the family, and the wider
environment. The nature, timing, severity, and length of particular risk factors and the gender,
age, and cultural identity of the individual are all key variables in determining mental health
mental disorders, with the majority not seeking or receiving adequate care. The neglect of mental
health and psychosocial development during these critical stages often results in long-term
consequences that extend into. Therefore, learning and adopting the right knowledge and
behavior regarding mental health at this stage would allow teenagers to have better mental health
literacy and to make a better decision about their mental health ((Bröder et al., 2017).

may utilize it to contribute to the body of knowledge on mental health awareness, provide
insights into the factors that influence awareness, and open opportunities for further research in
the field.
