Major Highlighted Activities were Carried out During July-September 2024:

 An in-house Training of Facilitators (TOF) were organized for Consortium partners staff
on CSO’s Capacity strengthening.
 Capacity development training for Upazila and Union platform CSOs on Strengthening
Lobby & Advocacy capacities were conducted.
 Local women microentrepreneurs associations signed a MoU with Private Companies to
ensure smooth supply of WASH & Nutrition products at grassroot level.
 During this period Union Parishads declared 18 villages/VDTs as a healthy village
considering nine indicators proposed by the respective CSOs.
 Communities demand and invest in installing 599 handwashing devices, 119 healthy
latrines, and 42 deep tubewells throughout the area during this period and ensuring
better WASH & Nutrition practices.

Major Advocacy Initiatives were by CSOs:

 Through the advocacy of Union CSO Forum three Union Parishad (Dumuria, Atlia and
Rangpur) allocated food baskets for 26 poor families with malnourished children. Food
basket includes, 1 litter Soyabean Oil, 30 sachets of Micronutrient Powder, 5 kgs Rice
and 2kg Pulses.
 Rangpur Union Parishad at a cost of Tk 1,50,000/= distributed 100 sets of ring slabs
whereas during their 2nd installment Dumuria Union Parishad distributed 10 sets of
sanitary latrines among the extreme poor families listed by Union CSO forum.
 A list of unhealthy latrines is being prepared under Maguraghona union with the help
of Union CSO Forum. After submitting the list UP declared to provide latrine
equipment’s to all listed families to ensure 100 percent sanitation throughout the
union.
 Raghunathpur Union CSO Forum provided 55 hand washing devices among the poor
families at a cost of BDT 9350 as an initiative of community philanthropy. They raised
these funds from social workers and rich people around them.
 Rudaghara Union CSO had been advocating for supplying necessary medicines at
community clinics, as there is a break in supply chain from health departments. Finally,
Rudaghora UP agreed and supplied necessary medicines to 3 community clinics which
are worth BDT 35,200. Also distributed 50 sets of ring slabs at a cost of BDT 77,000 and
08 sewing machines to most vulnerable women at a cost of BDT 78,600.
 Due to the advocacy of CSOs during this period several UP has given strong emphasis
to allocate projects related to health, nutrition and WASH from the budget (1%)
provided by Upazila Parishad. As a result Dhamalia Union Parishad has taken the
project of 2 deep tubewells and RCC pipe for water drainage at Tk 1,60,000/- ,
Raghunathpur Union Parishad has taken the project of supplying medicines to 3
community clinics at Tk 55,000/-, installing 3 deep tubewells at Tk 1,50,000/- ,
Rudaghara Union Parishad has taken the project of installing deep tubewells at Tk
6,00,000/- Rangpur Union Parishad-75,000/- has taken the project of distributing
sanitary pads for secondary school girls, Gutudia Union Parishad has taken the project
of distributing 4 deep tubewells at Tk 200,000/- and ring slab at Tk 100,000/-.
