Setup Process – Overview
1. Install virtual SmartZone Network
Controller on platform of your choice

This is the only option to configure Cluster

settings. The name must be unique and
can’t be changed later from the web
interface. The Cluster Name is case-
sensitive; if another node is going to later
join this cluster, it must match.

Physical Appliance Setup Process
SmartZone 144 Initial Setup
• SmartZone 144 initial setup is similar

to virtual SmartZone
• Changes are relative to being a

physical appliance, these include:
- Power and LED status
- Physical connectivity to port 1
- Port operational modes
The SmartZone 144 includes both RJ45 1GB
copper ports and 10GB SFP+ fiber ports. - IP interface assignments and types
With two port modes, you can choose how
the interfaces are allocated.

Buttons and Status Lights
STATUS LED: RESET:

• Slow Flash RED (bootup or shutdown) Press for 5 seconds to restart the system
• Fast Flash RED (factory reset in process) F/D:
• Slow Flash GREEN (in factory default state) Press for at least 10 seconds to factory default
• Solid GREEN (unit operational / no fault) the system

SZ-144 Setup Connection
• Connect your PC to port 1 or port 2
• Open the URL: https://192.168.2.2:8443 in a browser

Port Configuration offers

two options:
• One Port Group
• Two Port Group
• Separates management and
AP control traffic (PG1) from
AP tunnel traffic (PG2)
• Requires additional settings

If One Port Group is

selected, only one IP
address is configured.
