INTRODUCTION:
The Sponsor of, Al-Ehsan Housing Scheme, Kala Shah Kaku, has requested to
Prosperity Consultants for providing the consultancy services for preparation of
design of underground external electricity distribution system of Al-Ehsan
Housing Scheme, Kala Shah Kaku. In this context, present proposal has been
prepared and being submitted to Lahore Electric Supply Company Ltd. (LESCO),
for further necessary action.
The Housing Scheme comprises of 156 Kanals Area including 350 residential plots
and 30 commercial plots of different sizes, Mosque, Public Building, School,
Graveyard, Disposal Station, water supply, solid waste management site and park.
The main Electrical Design Features are given as under.
The design has been prepared for whole of the system as Underground
except the major fixtures/equipment such as Pad Mounted Transformers
(KIOSKS), H.T Ring main switches and L.T Distribution Boxes.
The ultimate load of housing scheme is worked out 1477.32 KW. The
supply of power to the scheme has been proposed from 11KV Existing
Feeder named as Pakhyala, emanating from 132kv Shamkey Grid Station.
To cater the total load of Housing Scheme, 01 (One) New Ring has been
proposed with 120mm2 3-C / XLPE / SWA / PVC 15KV class cables. The
H.T Feeders have been designated to form open-end loop system to ensure
the continuity of the supply in case of segment faults. The network has been
proposed to achieve the safe operation, technical feasibility and stability of supply
at the same time ensuring possible economy, as well as the aesthetics of the
Housing Scheme. In order to isolate faulty links in a shortest possible time earth
fault indicators are provided on the 11 KV system.

To cater the load, Three (03) nos. of 100KVA and Eight (08) nos. of 200KVA Pad
Mounted Transformers have been proposed. The load of commercial plots taken in
the load assessment but their transformers will be installed later. The provision for
installation of their transformers is proposed in the Design.
The street light system has also been proposed to be fed from the common
Transformers proposed in the rings/loops.
The standard practices and design instructions have been followed in preparing the
proposal.
The design has been prepared keeping in view the Consumer Service Manual
January 2021 issued by Registrar NEPRA vide letter No.
NEPRA/DG(CAD)/TCD-10/1883-35 dated 13.01.2021 and Clarification
regarding Revised CSM-2021 issued by Registrar NEPRA vide letter No.

LOAD CALCULATIONS
Total ultimate load of Eden Abad Housing Scheme worked out as 1477.32 KW or
1738.02 KVA. Load Current 91.2 Amps.
The load of housing scheme has been assessed as 1477.32 KW / 1738.02 KVA / 91.2
Amp. The maximum load recorded on the existing 11 KV Pakhyala Feeder emanating
from 132 kV Shamkey Grid Station was 190 Amp on June 2022.
The Load Flow Studies are performed with this load and the voltage drop and power loss
in existing condition comes to 7.6% and 5% respectively. After simulating the load of
proposed scheme i.e. 91.2 + 190 = 281.2 Amp, the same comes to 10.1% and 6%
respectively. By proposing 2x450 KVAR Capacitor at node 240 & 316, the voltage drop
and power loss comes to 7.1% and 5% respectively. The results both in existing/propose
condition are attached in the relevant part of this document.
