▪ The Mahaparinirvan Diwas, to observe the 69th Death

Anniversary of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, is being
commemorated by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) on behalf
of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, at
Prerna Sthal, Parliament House Complex, on 6th December,
2024.

• Birth: 14th April 1891 in Mhow, Central Province (now Madhya

Pradesh).
• Dr. Ambedkar was a social reformer, jurist, economist, author,
polyglot orator and a scholar of comparative religions.
▪ In 1916, he received a doctorate degree from Columbia
University, becoming the first Indian to do so.

▪ He is known as the Father of the Indian Constitution and

was India's first law minister.

▪ He founded Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha (1923),

▪ He participated in all three round-table conferences.

▪ In 1947, he was appointed Chairman of the Drafting

girl child in the country has improved from 918 in 2014-

System for Education, the National Gross Enrollment
ratio of girls in school at the secondary level has
increased from 75 per cent in 2014-15 to 79.4 per cent

About Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme

▪ Was launched on January 22, 2015 as a collaborative effort by the

Ministry of Women & Child Development with the Ministry of
Education, and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
▪ It focuses on preventing gender-biased sex-selective practices,
ensuring survival and protection of the girl child and promoting her
education.

▪ BBBP is a centrally sponsored scheme with 100% funding by the

Central Government in all the districts of the country under Sambal

 India Emerges as Prime Global Target for Mobile
Malware Attacks

▪ According to a recently published Zscaler ThreatLabz 2024 Mobile

IoT and OT Threat report by the cloud security company Zscaler
Inc.

▪ India has emerged as the most targeted country for mobile

malware attacks globally (28%), surpassing the United States and
Canada.

▪ The Report analysed security attacks by hackers on mobile and

IoT/OT from June 2023 to May 2024.
▪ Malware, or malicious software, is a type of programme or file
that steals data and damages or destroys the computer and its
system. Cybercriminals or hackers use malware.
▪ Common types of malware are computer viruses, worms, spyware,
Trojan horses, and ransomware.

• With nearly half of mobile attacks being trojans (malware that

tricks users into downloading and running malicious software), the
financial sector is particularly vulnerable.

• On a positive note, India has improved its ranking as a malware

origin point, moving from 5th to 7th place in the APAC (Asia-
Pacific) region.
 PSLV XL Proba-3 Launch: ISRO successfully launches
ESA’s mission to study sun’s corona

▪ ISRO successfully launched European Space Agency’s (ESA) Proba-3

mission aboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C59
rocket

▪ The four-stage PSLV-XL rocket (PSLV C59) lifted off from the Satish
Dhawan Space Center in the second attempt

▪ The Proba-3 (Project for Onboard Anatomy) consists of two

satellites — Coronagraph (310kgs) and Occulter (240kgs) — in
which two spacecraft would fly together as one, maintaining
precise formation down to a single millimetre to study the
Corona, the Sun's outer atmosphere.
▪ Proba-3 is the world's first precision formation flying
mission. 'Probas' is a Latin word, meaning 'Let's try'.

▪ PSLV-C59 is a 44.5 metre tall rocket and is on its 61st flight

and the 26th with the PSLV-XL variant which is normally
used to place heavy satellites.

 The second Drishti-10, a variant of

Israel's Hermes 900 medium-
altitude long-endurance UAV, was
integrated into naval operations at
Porbandar in Gujarat following
the successful deployment of the
first drone earlier this year.
▪ Manufactured by Adani Defence and Aerospace at its
Hyderabad facility
▪ Drishti 10, India’s only indigenous UAV operating reliably
above 32,000+ feet with large payload carrying capacity
and boasting a 36-hour endurance and a payload
capacity of 450 kg.
▪ The Drishti 10 is the sole military platform approved to
operate in all weather conditions, holding Nato's
STANAG 4671 certification for airworthiness of its UAV
system.
▪ Adani Defence also delivered the Drishti-10 Starliner to
the Indian Army.
 63rd ISAM Conference to Be Held at IAM Bengaluru

▪ Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ISAM) is organising its

63rd annual conference at Institute of Aerospace Medicine
(IAM), Bengaluru, from 05 to 07 December 2024.

▪ The Institute deals with military and civil aerospace medicine

including the human aspects of space flight programme of the
country.

▪ ISAM has been conducting an annual scientific conference

 India, Kuwait sign MoU to establish Joint Commission for
Cooperation

▪ External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and Kuwait's

Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al Yahya signed a Memorandum
of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Joint Commission for
Cooperation (JCC) at the level of foreign ministers.
▪ Abdullah Ali Al Yahya was on an official visit to India

▪ Under the new MoU, new Joint Working Groups will be

established in Education, Investment, Trade, Agriculture,
Technology, Security, and Culture.
