Methodology and activities:
Interactive Activities (pair work, group work, individual work), Task-based Learning, Blended
Learning, Critical Thinking (Activities designed to prompt students to think critically about
colors and how they are mixed)
Organization of the lessom:
Presentation (20 minutes)
Warm-up: T greets the students and asks, “What’s your favorite color?”
Briefly review colors that they already know, using flashcards for quick recall.
Introduce Vocabulary: T shows the flashcards for purple, brown, grey, pink, gold, silver,
and mix. Then T asks the students to repeat the color names after the teacher and show
corresponding images (objects, animals, etc.).
T writes the words on the blackboard and asks students to repeat.
Listen and Read: T plays the audio and reads the text "Make a New Colour!" from the
Young Stars 4 book. As students listen, T displays key words or visuals on the projector
to help them understand the text.
Then T discusses the concept of mixing colors (e.g., “What happens when we mix red
and blue?”) and explains that new colors can be created by mixing.

Practice (10 minutes)

After listening, T gives students a worksheet titled “Look and Write the name of each
colour.” Students will match the color names to the images or objects on the worksheet.

Production (15 minutes)

In pairs, students will use colored pencils or markers to create their own color mixes.
They will describe their mixed color using the new vocabulary. For example, “I mixed
yellow and blue to make green.” Each pair will then share their color mixes with the
class.

Assessment
T observes students’ participation during the activities and assesses their ability to
recognize and name colors in both group and individual tasks.

Assignment:
● Students write a short paragraph about their favorite color and how it is made
(e.g., “My favorite color is purple. It is made by mixing red and blue.”).
