A month ago I had no idea that on a Saturday afternoon in November
I'd be hanging 30 metres above the ground and enjoying it. Now I looked
down at the river far below me, and realised why people love
rock-climbing.
My friend Matt and I had arrived at the Activity Centre on Friday
evening. The accommodation wasn't wonderful, but we had everything we
needed (beds, blankets, food), and we were pleased to be out of the city and
in the fresh air.
On Saturday morning we met the other ten members of our group.
Cameron had come along with two friends, Kevin and Simon, while sisters
Carole and Lynn had come with Amanda. We had come from various
places and none of us knew the area.
We knew we were going to spend the weekend outdoors, but none of
us was sure exactly how. Half of us spent the morning caving while the
others went rock- climbing and then we changed at lunchtime. Matt and I
went to the caves first. Climbing out was harder than going in, but after a
good deal of pushing, we were out at last — covered in mud but pleased
and excited by what we'd done.

WRITING
PART 1: Writing a letter
You are Peter. Write a letter to your pen friend, Linda in about 120 words
to tell him/her about a website you often visit, including information
about:
- How you found it
- What it is about,
- How often you visit it;
And explain why you often visit it.

Dear Linda,
I hope you're doing well.
I wanted to share with you a website. I often use called
"EnglishPractice.com". I came across it while searching for
resources to help my students improve their English skills. This
website offers a variety of exercises and activities to practice
grammar, vocabulary, listening, and reading comprehension. I
visit it regularly, about two to tlarve tisses a week, to find new
materials for my lessons and to reconanend to my students for
extra practice. It's really helpful and easy to navigate.
I think you'd find it usefull too, especially if you're looking to
brush up on your English skills or belp someone else with their
learning.
Take care,
Peter
PART 2: Writing a short essay
Write an essay about 150 words to express your opinions on the following
question:
Do you prefer to live in a nuclear family or an extended family?

In my opinion, both nuclear and extended families have their own

advantages and disadvantages, and which one is better depends on
personal preferences and circumstances.

Living in a nuclear family, consisting of parents and children, offers

privacy and independence. Decision-making is usually faster and
easier, and conflicts may be resolved more quickly. However, it can
sometimes feel lonely, especially if family members are busy with their
own lives.

On the other hand, living in an extended family, which includes

grandparents, aunts, uncies, and cousins, provides a strong support
system. There is always someone to turn to for help or advice, and
family bonds are often stronger, However, it can also lead to conflicts
and disagreements due to different personalities and lifestyles.

Personally, I prefer the flexibility and privacy of a nuclear family. I

appreciate having my own space and making decisions independently.
However, I value the importance of family connections and believe that
staying close to extended family members is essential for maintaining
relationships and cultural traditions.

In short, whether to live in a nudear or nudear or extended family

depends on individual circumstances and preferences.
