➢The Question Paper is divided into three sections and has 22 questions in all.

➢ Section A is compulsory and has fourteen questions.

➢ You are required to attempt all questions either from Section B or Section C.

➢ Section B and Section C have four questions each.

➢ Internal choices have been provided in two questions of 2 marks, two questions of 4 marks and two questions of 6 marks in Section A.

➢ Internal choices have been provided in one question of 2 marks and one question of 4 marks each in Section B and Section C

. ➢ While attempting Multiple Choice Questions in Section A, B and C, you are required to write only ONE option as the answer.

➢ The intended marks for questions or parts of questions are given in the brackets [].

a) The reliability of a COVID PCR test is specified as follows:
Of people having COVID, 90% of the test detects the disease but 10 % goes
undetected. Of people free of COVID, 99% of the test is judged COVID negative but 1%
are diagnosed as showing COVID positive. From a large population of which only 0.1%
have COVID, one person is selected at random, given the COVID PCR test, and the
pathologist reports him/her as COVID positive.

Based on the given information, solve the following questions:


i) What is the probability of the 'person to be tested as COVID positive' given that
'he is actually having COVID' ?
ii) What is the probability of the 'person to be tested as COVID positive' given that
‘he is actually not having COVID❜ ?
iii) What is the probability that the 'person is actually not having COVID❜ ?
iv) What is the probability that the 'person is actually having COVID' given that 'he is
tested as COVID positive' ?

b) A shopkeeper sells three types of flower seeds A1, A2, A3. They are sold in the form of a
mixture, where the proportions of these seeds are 4 : 4 : 2, respectively. The
germination rates of the three types of seeds are 45%, 60% and 35% respectively.

Based on the above information, solve the following questions:


i) Calculate the probability that a randomly chosen seed will germinate.
ii) Calculate the probability that the seed is of type A2, given that a randomly chosen
seed germinates.

In subparts (i) and (ii) choose the correct options and in subparts (iii) to (v), answer the questions as

i) If the demand function is given by 𝑝 = 1500 – 2𝑥 − 𝑥 2 then find the marginal revenue when 𝑥 =

ii) If the two regression coefficients are 0.8 and 0.2, then the value of coefficient of correlation 𝑟 will

iii) Out of the two regression lines 𝑥 + 2𝑦 – 5 = 0 and 2𝑥 + 3𝑦 = 8, find the line of regression of 𝑦 on

iv) The cost function 𝐶 (𝑥 ) = 3𝑥 2 − 6𝑥 + 5. Find the average cost when 𝑥 = 2
v) The fixed cost of a product is ₹ 30,000 and its variable cost per unit is ₹ 800. If the demand

function is 𝑝(𝑥) = 4500 – 100𝑥, find the break – even values.

i) The cost function of a commodity is 𝐶 (𝑥 ) 200+20𝑥 (in rupees). Find the range where
AC falls.

Solve the following Linear Programming Problem graphically.

Maximize 𝑍 = 5𝑥 + 2𝑦

subject to:

𝑥 – 2𝑦 ≤ 2,

3𝑥 + 2𝑦 ≤ 12,

−3𝑥 + 2𝑦 ≤ 3,
