JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Principal Department: Academics

Direct reporting line:


Reports to the Director of Schools.

JobSummary:
The Principal serves as the school's chief administrator, overseeing all aspects of the
school's operations, both academic and administrative. This includes but is not limited
to developing and implementing policies, programs, and curriculum activities,
supporting student recruitment and managing budgets. The Principal promotes each
student's educational development and each staff member's professional
development. The Principal establish a professional rapport with students, parents,
and staff, maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Instructional Leadership:
• Serve as the Instructional Leader of the school.
• Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and
staff for academic performance and responsible behaviour.
• Develop, implement, and assess the instructional programs at the assigned
school in coordination with headquarters in program planning.

Academic Supervision:
• Supervise the instructional programs by evaluating lesson plans and
observing classes regularly.
• Encourage the use of diverse instructional strategies and materials consistent
with research on learning and child development.
• Monitor student learning progress and create data-driven intervention
programs.

School Environment:
• Foster a conducive teaching and learning environment for students and staff.
• Develop positive school/community relations and act as a liaison between the
school and the community.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, and the community
both orally and in writing.
• Develop long- and short-range facility plans.
• Coordinate facility and support service requirements, safety, and maintenance
functions.
• Supervise transportation and food service programs.
• Coordinate and supervise all extracurricular programs, including athletics and
student activities.
• Approve school-sponsored activities and maintain a calendar of events.

Personnel Management:
• Provide training and professional development opportunities for school
personnel.
• Conduct performance appraisals and make reappointment recommendations.
• Participate in strategic planning, including the school calendar, staffing, and
manpower plans.
• Interview and select qualified personnel for employment.
• Implement and administer employee contracts at the school site.
• Direct the development of the master schedule and teacher assignments.
• Assess school-site administrators' performance and establish their job
assignments.

Financial Management:
• Manage and supervise the school’s financial resources, including budget
preparation and disbursement.
• Establish and manage student accounting and attendance procedures.

Disciplinary Procedures:
• Establish guidelines for proper student conduct and implement disciplinary
policies.
• Develop procedures for school crises and provide leadership in such events.

Communication and Meetings:


• Conduct staff meetings to discuss policy changes, instructional programs, and
problem resolution.
• Keep the Director of Schools and Headquarters informed of significant issues.
• Participate in system-wide management and professional development
meetings.
• Maintain communication with parents or guardians regarding the school
program and activities through newsletters, coffee morning, parent/teacher
conferences, etc.

School Improvement:
• Lead the school improvement process and implement the school improvement
plan.
• Maintain visibility and accessibility on campus and attend school-related
activities and events.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and
learning practices
• Implement and promote sustainable practices within the school environment
• Oversee technology integration to enhance learning experiences and support
educational goals
• Promote responsible and ethical use of technology among students and staff
Policy Implementation:
• Implement School Board policies and government regulations.
• Ensure timely submission of reports to Government Agencies and
headquarters.
• Ensure all staff members use all systems - such as Skyward, SPS, Koobits,
RazKids, etc - effectively.

Other Duties:
• Any additional duties assigned by the Director of Schools or required by the
nature of the position.
• Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the position.

Job Title: National Principal Department: Academics

Direct reporting line:


Reports to the Principal.

JOB SUMMARY
The National Principal provides instructional and administrative leadership, ensuring
adherence to national curriculum requirements and fostering the educational
development of students and staff in their assigned school/grade levels. This role
promotes parent and community awareness of the national curriculum and works
closely with key stakeholders, including the Principal, Vice Principal, Heads of
Department, Curriculum Heads, and teachers to support effective curriculum delivery.
The National Principal also liaises with local and national educational authorities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Coordination


• Provide instructional and administrative leadership focused on the National
Curriculum.
• Promote awareness of the national curriculum among parents and the
community.
• Collaborate with the Principal, Vice Principal, Heads of Department, Curriculum
Heads, and teachers for effective curriculum delivery.
• Liaise with local and national educational authorities.
• Also act as Assistant Principal on areas/matters assigned by Principal

Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation


• Attend scheduled meetings with the Ministry of Education & Culture, local
Diknas, and Pengawas.
• Manage and oversee all processes and administration for school registration
and accreditation with the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher
Education.
• Ensure timely and error-free data reporting to local Diknas and the Ministry of
Research, Technology, and Higher Education, e.g., Dapodik, Sispena.
• Maintain up-to-date school licensing.
• Ensure timely school accreditation, organize and manage the process to
achieve an A accreditation rating.
• Ensure and maintain a satisfactory level (meningkat dan baik) of school Rapor
Pendidikan in all areas.
• Implement School Board Policies.
Instructional Supervision and Support
• Assist in monitoring and evaluating instructional staff through formal
evaluations and walkthroughs, focusing on National Curriculum subject
teachers.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the master teaching and
student schedules.

Examinations and Reporting


• Manage and monitor preparation for common assessments and final
examinations.
• Manage and organize preparation classes for Ujian Sekolah (School-Based
Exams) for grades 6, 9, and 12, and ANBK for grades 5, 8, and 11.
• Prepare, print, record, and distribute Ijazah for graduating classes.
• Manage and organize preparation classes for National examinations at
respective grades.
• Prepare, record, and analyze the Raport Pendidikan for grades 5, 8, and 11.
• Prepare, print, record, and distribute National Report Cards and other
documents for students as needed or requested.

Curriculum Development and Teacher Support


• Remain abreast of current national curriculum trends, instructional strategies,
practices, developments, instructional materials, and related governmental
procedures and guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with parents, school, and community committees on
school-related matters.
• Assist in selecting school personnel for National subjects.
• Support new teacher onboarding.
• Participate in workshops, in-services, and other administrative staff
development activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and follow up on training and workshops for National
Curriculum teachers.
• Ensure all National Curriculum lesson plans, curriculum scope and sequence,
and related documents are prepared, archived, and submitted to authorities as
required.
• Ensure that the National Curriculum plans and activities are implemented by
teachers.
• Review and provide feedback on weekly lesson plan submissions for all
National subjects unless delegated to an HOD.
• Work with the Principal to implement all academic programs, especially
National Curriculum programs.
• Provide training and mentoring for National subject teachers to be relevant to
the current curriculum.

Event and Resource Management


• Assist the Principal with the organization of major school events as needed.
• Establish and maintain an effective accounting and inventory system for
departmental supplies, materials, and equipment.
Communication and Confidentiality
• Inform the Principal of staff difficulties and assist in overcoming these
challenges.
• Protect the confidentiality of records and information gained professionally and
use discretion in sharing information within legal confines.

Additional Responsibilities
• Teach subjects as required for BIMBEL and Ujian Sekolah preparation or
others.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Schools, Principal, Vice
Principal or Headquarters.
• Assist and monitor any international programs assigned by the Principal or
Director.

JOB GOAL
The Primary Teacher creates a safe, engaging environment, designing and delivering
lessons for comprehensive learning in their designated subject. They aim to enhance
students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth, equipping them with skills
for academic and societal success.

A Primary Teacher will generally focus on one specific subject however at times a
teacher may be called on to teach additional subjects.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o S1 or Bachelor’s Degree in Education and/or relevant subject.
o At least 2 years’ teaching experience.
o Experience in an international school setting.
o Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is preferred but not required.
o Strong written and spoken English skills with clear pronunciation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


OVERALL
● Design, facilitate and manage learning activities, assessments, classroom
management and student engagement to create a safe and stimulating
educational setting for one or more year level students.
● If assigned to a homeroom class of students, provide pastoral care, ensuring
a nurturing atmosphere that promotes their intellectual, emotional, physical,
and social growth.
● Serve as a positive role model for students, upholding the school's mission
and maintaining high standards of professional conduct and ethics.
● Engage in continuous professional development to improve teaching
practices and personal growth, including workshops, seminars, and
educational courses relevant to teaching young children.

ACADEMIC
● Plan, implement, and teach comprehensive lessons in designated subject(s)
that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
● Provide additional learning opportunities to support student success such as
tutorials, extension classes, competition preparation, etc.

OVERALL

student engagement for local subjects (Indonesian language, BIPA, Civics)
and possibly other subjects, as assigned, with guidance of the lead teacher as
needed.

Lower Primary Homeroom Teacher is generally for Grade 1 and 2, however, some
campuses may also include Grade 3.

at minimum
o At least 2 years’ teaching experience, preferably as the lead teacher, with at
