2) Legislation to prevent spread of already established pest

3) Legislation to enforce the application of effective control measures to prevent damage by


established pest.

1923 – Madras Govt. – act “remove & destroy affected leaves” against coconut BHHC

1929 – Cotton cushion scale – Rodelia cordinalis was left /S.cane top shoot bores –
remove the affected parts.

4) Legislation to prevent adulteration & misbranding of insecticides insecticide act 1968 GOI
– regulate import, manufacture, sale, transport distribution & use of insecticide to prevent rist
of human being & animals.

5) Legislation to regulate the activities of men in pest control measures.
