Exactly, can you tell me some other way to tell that

people belong to other groups or diverse Yes, sir. The first one is arnis and the other is salakot.
backgrounds?

How about these picture? Can you recognize?

Yes, very good. Those are some well-known Filipino

cultures. Using arnis as a weapon and salakot in
farming.

Whenever we see ourselves in front of the mirror, we

can see that our culture and tradition are reflected,
like in the movie Raya and the last dragon. It’s very
overwhelming that our tradition or culture is featured
in the movie.
Every country has different traditions and cultures
Like arnis and the salakot which are part of our
culture. Other countries also have related traditions
and cultures but they are unique in some ways
Despite, those differences we need to understand and
respect those differences.

Example:
Symbol Card: Lotus Flower
Context Card: "Represents purity and enlightenment
in Southeast Asian cultures."

The Lotus Flower is a powerful cultural and spiritual

symbol in Southeast Asian traditions, often
representing purity and enlightenment. This
symbolism stems from the flower’s unique ability to
grow beautifully in muddy waters, signifying the
triumph of purity and strength over adversity.

In many Southeast Asian cultures, the lotus is linked

to spiritual growth and inner peace, especially in
religions like Buddhism and Hinduism. It embodies
the journey toward enlightenment, where one rises
above challenges and impurities to achieve wisdom
and clarity.

Additionally, the lotus is associated with resilience,

as it thrives in difficult conditions. This makes it a
metaphor for human potential to overcome struggles
and emerge stronger and more virtuous.

Whether depicted in literature, art, or ceremonies, the

lotus flower serves as a reminder of the beauty,
strength, and wisdom that can emerge from life's
challenges.

Group task:
Symbol: Bamboo
Context: "Symbolizes resilience and flexibility in
many Southeast Asian cultures."
Symbol: Traditional Dance Masks

heritage through performance arts."
