strategies in listening to long descriptive and narrative texts; value
of literal and figurative language; and appropriate grammatical

 Introduction
The shift in speech act can have a significant impact on
the language act being performed, and it is important for the
speaker to be aware of the potential consequences of their
choice of words and tone.

Multimodal Texts are often live, digital text, or paper-based. It requires the
processing of more than one method and the recognition of the
interconnections between information.

Live multimodal texts are shown through combinations of different modes


such as gestural, spatial, audio, and oral language. The following are
examples of live multimodal texts:

Dance – the expression of an idea or


emotion through the use of body
movements in a rhythmic way,
accompanied with music

Oral presentation/oral story telling - the delivery of an idea in front of a


public audience

1. Multimodal Texts are often live, digital text, or paper-based. It requires


the processing of more than one method and the recognition of the
interconnections between information.

2. The examples of live multimodal texts are dance and oral presentation.

3. People use live multimodal texts because they enable them to express

combinations of various modes such as gestural, spatial, audio, and oral
language.
