1. Each subject’s task should NOT take more than 30 minutes each day. If you notice that this is consistently happening,
PLEASE let me know so we can chat about some strategies to remedy this.
2. Please remind students to check each subject daily on Canvas—they should get in the habit of making sure there is not a
discussion board, different website task, etc. rather than assuming what they are supposed to do. Bolded items on
schedule are things that are found on Canvas.
3. I attached the parent letter about grading along with this schedule. Grading for virtual learning looks a bit different as
students will not receive letter/number grades but rather will receive the scores of either complete, incomplete, or
missing. Students who do not show they understand the key ideas through the completion of each assignment between
now and the end of the school year will be able to make up missed work virtually during the summer.
a. I will continue to send DOJO messages to parents when I notice something is missing on a particular day.
4. Each day, students attended a different special when in school—I encourage you to keep a similar schedule. When you
see MULTIPLE ideas under the specialist’s page on Canvas, just know that the expectation is to do ONE task that week
as students attended each special once a week—often times, the alternatives are provided due to not knowing supply
access that students have, etc. Specials assignments WILL be scored as complete/incomplete/missing just like academic
subjects.
5. Socialization ZOOM will be on Thursdays at 3:00 (since the next Zoom slot is in the mornings mentioned with #6 is in
the mornings). These will brief—not lasting more than 15 minutes.
6. Each week, I am going to go live with Math on Tuesday’s and Thursdays at 11:00 on Zoom. This will be in lieu of
watching the video posted on Canvas introducing the lesson. If your students can not attend, they can stick to watching
the videos provided. I will also record sessions if they miss them to post the next day! I would like for all students that
are attending to bring their Learn books for Module 8 just in case they need it along with a pencil.
**You are obviously in no way tied to the recommended schedule but using this schedule is how I will weave in some of
supplemental things that I am doing as mentioned above with number 5 and 6.
