Sub: - Modification of Line Numbers in COA linked Data logger database -reg.
Ref: - This office Lt.NO.SA/T/CHG/COAMIS, dt.07.11.24 & 04.12.24 to GM/COA/NDLS

With reference to the above, it is advised to initiate the necessary modifications in


the Data Logger interlinked COA system.

The Line Occupancy Chart option available on the COMIS website (https://coamis.indianrail.gov.in/)
provides real-time information on Line/Platform (PF) occupancy across all stations in the SA Division.
The line occupancy data for SA, ED, and CBE coaching trains plays a critical role in analysing
punctuality losses and enhancing operational efficiency. This data is currently sourced from GPS, Data
Logger interlinked with COA, and Controller marking.

Upon reviewing the logic behind Line Number mapping in the Line Occupancy Chart of COMIS, the
following discrepancies have been identified:

 Act Line – Actual Line Number


 DL Line – Data Logger Database in Effe Line Number
 Act PF – Actual Platform

After detailed discussions over several days with Data Logger- S&T Control Room- Effectronics
contract staff, it has been ascertained that there is a mismatch in the mapping of Line Numbers.

Therefore, it is advised to rectify this discrepancy to ensure the effective utilization of the Line
Occupancy Chart in the COMIS website for accurate operational analysis.
