To start creating a JIRA issue, click on the Create button to open the create pop-up

Project
Issue Type
Select the issue type (Epic, Story, Bug, Task, Sub-Task or if any
other company specific type is provided)

There are few more fields which although non mandatory, but if filled will help in
organizing the JIRA much better.
Priority
Enter the priority of the issue which can be high, medium, low,
critical, etc.
Labels
Giving a label to the issue helps in organizing and identifying
the issue much effeciently. Label is company specific.
Linked Issues
Link 1 or many issues in JIRA which can either be a parent,
blocker, duplicate or simply related (there can be more
types).
Assignee
Assign this JIRA to the most relevant stakeholder at this
workflow and issue stage.
Sprint
Provide the details of the sprint in which this issue is to be
tracked and completed.
There are still many fields which can be filled while creating a JIRA issue, but
that depends company to company and the process followed by each.

There are other actions which can be performed on a JIRA issue, that could be
useful and save a lot of time.

JIRA allows to search for Issues and Projects as well as keywords that appear
in Issue descriptions and comments. There are mulltiple ways to search,

A dashboard is the main display you see when logging in to Jira. It
allows creation of multiple dashboards from different projects, or
multiple dashboards for one massive overview of all the work being
done.
It allows to create a personal dashboard and add gadgets to keep
track of assignments and issues being worked upon. Dashboards are
designed to display gadgets that help in organizing projects,
assignments, and achievements in different charts.
