Different forms of Normal to Parabola 𝒚𝟐 = 𝟒𝒂𝒙


Cartesian form of Normal at (𝑥1 , 𝑦1 ) :

24𝑦 + 128 = 0 is 𝑎( 𝑏 − 𝑐) then find the value of 2𝑎 + 3𝑏 − 4𝑐

If the point ℎ, 𝑘 on the line 𝑥 + 𝑦 = 4 is nearest to the parabola
𝑦 2 = 4(𝑥 − 9) then find the value of ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑘
[Ans: ℎ = 8, 𝑘 = −4]
Find the point on the parabola 𝑦 = 4𝑥 2 which is closest to the straight
line 𝑦 = −3𝑥 + 4
If 𝑃(ℎ, 𝑘) be a point on the parabola 𝑥 = 4𝑦 2 which is nearest to the
point 𝑄 0,33 , then the distance of P from the directrix of the parabola
