At Issue
Cayuga and Seneca Counties, like most communities in the U.S., are facing a crisis of diminishing financial resources that impact every citizens quality of life. Good quality and easily accessible data is essential to making good decisions and creating better planning. Governmental bodies, community organizations, and businesses need to be in position to move more rapidly and more effectively to obtain outside grant funding as they become available.

The Project
Funding the project was obtained in 2011. CGR, the Center for Governmental Research, was contracted to create and do the analysis on the 70 indicators. The website holds comparative data for Cayuga, Onondaga, Ontario, Oswego, Seneca, and Wayne Counties. Data is organized into 7 focus areas: Children & Youth, Demographics, Economy, Education, Financial Self-Sufficiency, Health and Safety, and Housing. The website has a resource page with links to other data sites. Launched in January 2012, the data will be totally refreshed in 2013.
