read it loudly.

If you want to answer, stand up and if your

answer is correct, you will receive a reward.

So let`s start!
Yes Sir!

Activity 2: “What Am I?”

1. I’m neutral and steady, with no

charge at all,
In the heart of the atom, I stand
strong and tall.
Though I don’t have a charge to
claim my fame,
Without my presence, it
wouldn’t be the same.
*What am I?*

- Answer: Neutron

2. I come in layers, so neat and so

round,
My outermost shell can give
you a sound.
What am I?

- Answer: An atom (the

electron shells of an atom,
and the outer shell often
dictates the chemical
behavior).

3. With spins and orbits, I dance

in my space,
In quantum states, I find my
place.
What am I?

- Answer: An electron (the

concept of electron spins and
orbital shapes in quantum
mechanics).

4. I have a positive charge, that’s

Activity 3: “THE FLAME TEST"

Kindly listen and observe the process

and procedure that we are going to
perform the Flame Test. With the
materials provided by your teacher,
each of you will identify the situations ,
then answer the guide question below..

Materials needed:

.50 grams of each of the following

metal salts:

Calcium chloride
Sodium chloride
Copper (II) sulfate
Potassium chloride
Boric acid
100 mL 95% Ethanol (or ethyl alcohol)
100 mL 3 M hydrochloric acid /

Guide questions:

Q 1. Why do you think are there

different colors emitted?
Q 2. What particles in the heated
compounds are responsible for the
production of the colored light?
Q 3. How did the scientists explain the
relationship between the colors
observed and the structure of the atom?

Class any clarifications? Or questions?

None Sir!
Okay let’s begin to the experiment! (All students are listening and
observing the process)

IV. EXPLAIN BORIC ACID

produces a yellow flame

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE

Potassium chloride (KCl) produces a light

lilac or violet flame color when burned

COPPER(II) SULFATE

The flame produced by burning copper (II)

sulfate is bluish-green or light green.

Okay class we’re done to our activity

let’s present now you‘re observations about
the flames based in the guide questions.

Okay who wants to share your answer in the

guide questions? (Students raising their hands)

Everyone give around of applause…
That’s all sir thank you!

(The students will clap their hands.)

V. ELABORATE Let’s proceed to our discussion class.

I have a video that you need to watch this is

about 3 minutes long.. describing the
electronic structure of matter

https://youtu.be/wVOcymsMteY?
si=DVzJk44rMp2vTWrf

Using these following pictures, let`s deepen

our understanding about the electronic
structure of matter ..

The electronic structure of matter is the

arrangement of electrons in atoms and
molecules, and the energies associated with
them.

This picture show’s that Carbon atoms have

6 protons and 6 neutrons, arranged as shown
in the picture. Carbon has four valence
electrons, allowing it to make large stable
carbon-based molecules. The number of
neutrons in carbon atoms can vary among
carbon isotopes, though 6 is the most
common number.

Here are some real-life examples of the

electronic structure of matter:

Light from stars

The light from stars, including the sun, is

produced by the electronic structure of

matter.
Incandescent light
The light from incandescent solids, like
tungsten filaments, is produced by the
electronic structure of matter.

Fluorescent light bulbs

These light sources produce line spectra by
exciting a gas with an electrical current or
heating it.

Static electricity
The phenomena of static electricity, like a
rubber balloon sticking to a door, can be
explained by electron movement.
Superconductivity
(Students are listening)
That’s all class, thank you!

Do you have any other questions or

clarifications class? if you have, just raise
your hands and we will answer it.
(students are clapping their hands)
If there`s none, let`s proceed to our quiz!
None Sir!
