Career Assessment and Reflection Worksheet

Follow the steps outlined below and then use this worksheet to complete your self-reflection. Save this
document as a Word .doc or as a .pdf, and submit to Blackboard.

STEP 1- Complete FOCUS 2 CARRER Assessments

FOCUS 2 CAREER is an online interactive, self-guided career and education planning system designed to
help you make decisions about your future career goals and education plans and be Career Ready!
A. You completed the Work Interest Assessment in the “Career and Transfer Exploration” Unit of this
course. Now complete the rest of the assessments here: to
https://www.focus2career.com/Login.cfm. *
B. Begin with Career Planning Foundation. These inventories will give you a sense of how far along you
are in the career exploration process and will suggest some Next Steps.
C. Complete the rest of the assessments in the Self-Assessment Section (Personality Assessment,
Leisure Assessment, Values Assessment, and Skills Assessment). These assessments will collect some
information about what you are interested in, what you value, your personality, how you spend
leisure time, and what skills you have at this time. You will be able to see which occupations
combine these characteristics.
D. Return to the home screen and select Combine Assessments. Then select all of the assessments and
select continue. Explore the occupations that made your lists.

C. What surprised you the most in your self-assessment results? Why? The thing that most surprised
me would have to be me being enterprising. I am surprised by this because I don’t really see myself
as a pursuer and convincing to others to do things.

D. What surprised you the least in your self-assessment results? Why? Having correct and eager in
leisure interests wasn’t a surprise to me. That is because that is how my personality is. I am very
eager to make sure to complete everything and I always think or believe that I am always correct
which is why I am not surprised by these.

E. What do you consider to be the top three occupations generated from combining your
assessments?
1. High School administrator
2. Middle school administrator
3. Preschool administrator

F. What appeals to you most about these occupations? These occupations all have something in
common which is teaching. I want to go into college and get my major in teaching in one of these
grades mainly younger kids.

G. The My Career Planning Involvement module of FOCUS 2, measured your level of involvement in
activities that support self-awareness, career exploration and your satisfaction with your career
planning. Using your Growth Mindset identify three actions that you might take to become more
